Hualien Mobile Toilet Restroom

Admin October 22, 2026

The Hualien Golden Triangle Business District has addressed the shortage of public toilets through the 'Friendly Public Toilet' initiative, with seven participating stores now offering convenient restroom options.

Background and Purpose of the Initiative

Due to limited public space, the Hualien Golden Triangle Business District has long faced a shortage of public toilets, causing inconvenience for locals and tourists alike. To improve this situation, the Hualien City Office, in collaboration with seven stores in the business district, launched the 'Friendly Public Toilet' initiative. By integrating commercial resources, the internal toilets of these stores are now open to the public, alleviating the pressure of toilet shortages and enhancing the service quality of the business district.

Participating Stores and Distribution

Currently, seven stores are participating in the initiative, including Hui Lan Shu Dao, Pineapple Bay, Cultural and Creative Park, Lai Zhe Bu Zou Tea House, Chao Tian Xia Restaurant, Miracle Coffee Shop, and 7-Eleven Lianhua Branch. These stores are located in the core area of the business district, with a maximum distance of 500 meters between each, forming a dense restroom network that makes it easy for people to quickly find available toilets. For example, it takes only a few minutes to walk from Hui Lan Shu Dao to 7-Eleven Lianhua Branch, covering various scenarios such as shopping, dining, and leisure.

Implementation Effects and Future Plans

Since the implementation of the initiative, the convenience of the business district has been significantly improved, especially benefiting tourists, the elderly, and those with mobility issues. Stores guide the public through unified signage (such as the 'Friendly Public Toilet' logo), and some have optimized their toilet environments by providing basic facilities like toilet paper and hand soap. The Hualien City Office stated that it will continue to expand the scope of cooperation, negotiate with more stores to join, and plan to mark toilet locations on map apps to further facilitate public inquiries.

Suggestions for Public Use

When needing to use the restroom in the business district, the public can look for the 'Friendly Public Toilet' signage at store entrances or consult nearby merchants. Please keep the toilets clean, respect the store's business hours, and avoid occupying them for extended periods during peak hours. If the initiative is planned to be expanded to more areas in the future, it is recommended that the city office strengthen publicity and coordinate with stores to unify opening hours to enhance service stability.
