Huainan Shouxian Mobile Toilet Renovation

Admin September 28, 2026

The renovation of mobile toilets in Shouxian, Huainan, focuses on intelligent management and maintenance, combining standardized construction with targeted rectification actions to promote the upgrading of rural household toilets.

I. Construction of an Intelligent Management and Maintenance System
Shouxian has innovated in the post-renovation management and maintenance model for toilets, leveraging internet and IoT technologies to create an "Intelligent Management and Maintenance System for Rural Sanitary Toilets." Through a mobile toilet app platform, real-time online services for toilet repair requests, maintenance, and feedback are provided. As of now, 16 townships have downloaded and installed the platform, covering 2,942 renovated households. This system not only enhances management and maintenance efficiency but also ensures the long-term normal use of toilets through data-driven management, addressing the issue of "emphasizing construction over management" in traditional toilet renovations.

II. Renovation Goals and Models for 2024
According to the "Shouxian 2024 Rural Household Toilet Renovation Implementation Plan," the goal is to complete the renovation of over 6,000 households throughout the year, primarily promoting two standardized models:

  1. Brick-Built Three-Compartment Septic Tanks: Constructed with bricks, these tanks achieve harmless treatment of feces through three compartments. They are cost-effective and flexible in construction, suitable for scattered rural households.
  2. Reinforced Concrete Integrated Three-Compartment Septic Tanks: Molded as a whole with reinforced concrete, these tanks offer strong sealing and high durability, making them suitable for centralized renovation areas or regions with complex geological conditions.
The plan explicitly requires that toilet facilities meet standards (including area, ventilation, and lighting), have access to water and electricity, and strictly adhere to the national "Rural Household Toilet Hygiene Standards" (GB/T 38836-2020) to ensure renovation quality.

III. Targeted Rectification Actions and Achievements
Townships such as Zhongxing have completed the renovation of 624 household toilets through targeted rectification actions, focusing on inspecting the installation effectiveness of three-compartment septic tanks, the smoothness of water inflow and outflow, and household satisfaction. For example, they check whether septic tanks are sealed and leak-proof, and whether inlet and outlet pipes are correctly connected to prevent sewage overflow or inadequate treatment. Simultaneously, they collect feedback from households through door-to-door visits to adjust renovation plans promptly and enhance public acceptance.

IV. Significance of the Renovation
The mobile toilet renovation in Shouxian has not only improved rural sanitary conditions and reduced the risk of disease transmission but also promoted rural revitalization through intelligent management and standardized construction. In the future, as renovation tasks continue to progress, more households will enjoy safe, convenient, and environmentally friendly sanitary facilities, providing replicable experience for improving the rural living environment.
