Huaiji Container House Development
The development of container houses in Huaiji has not yet formed a large-scale industry, but it has certain development potential. It mainly relies on the demand from the logistics industry and favorable traffic planning, and may gradually expand its application scenarios with the upgrading of the regional economy in the future.

Support from Existing Industrial Base and Logistics Demand
As an important logistics node connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to the southwest of China, Huaiji has witnessed a rapid increase in the number of export-oriented manufacturing enterprises in recent years. Industries such as deep processing of agricultural products, electromechanical accessories, and ceramic machinery have seen a sharp rise in the demand for customized export wooden crates. For example, when local enterprises export sugarcane harvester parts to Brazil and stainless steel sinks to Germany, they need to use customized wooden crates with a flexural rigidity increased by 2.3 times and a single-crate load capacity of 2.8 tons, along with a three-stage reinforcement system to control cargo displacement. Although such demand is mainly for export wooden crates, it reflects the region's reliance on standardized and modular transportation carriers, providing a market awareness foundation for the potential application of container houses.
Opportunities Brought by Traffic Planning and Logistics Hub Construction
According to the "Zhaoqing Comprehensive Transportation System Development Plan (2022-2035)", Huaiji will build a feeder airport and a Lengkeng Logistics Center, and serve as a key node of the "Zhaoqing-Hezhou Comprehensive Three-Dimensional Transportation Corridor". With the densification of logistics channels in the Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing economic circle, Huaiji's geographical advantages will become more prominent. The construction of logistics hubs is usually accompanied by supporting demands for temporary warehousing and office buildings. Due to their movable, recyclable, and easy-to-construct characteristics, container houses may become a preferred alternative to traditional prefabricated houses. For example, in the Guanxing Agriculture Digital Fishery Breeding Base, containers have been used for the display of ecological breeding techniques, indirectly demonstrating their versatility.
Expansion of Application Scenarios Driven by Regional Economic Upgrading
Currently, Huaiji is mainly engaged in agriculture and primary processing industries, but it is transforming towards high-value-added fields through projects such as the "vegetable supply base for Hong Kong" and cold chain logistics centers. If more manufacturing or cultural and tourism projects (such as the development of karst cave villages) are introduced in the future, container houses may be applied in scenarios such as workers' dormitories, tourist homestays, and commercial exhibitions. For example, the Yanqian Community in Duanzhou District has revitalized idle resources through "micro-renovation". If Huaiji adopts container houses in similar projects, it can reduce construction costs and shorten the construction period.
Challenges and Limitations
The development of container houses in Huaiji still faces challenges: a lack of localized production enterprises, with existing demand mostly met by enterprises from Shenzhen and other places; low market awareness, with the region preferring traditional building forms; and single application scenarios, without forming large-scale demand yet.
