How to Wire a Mobile Toilet
Admin September 24, 2026
The wiring of a mobile toilet should be carried out according to standard procedures based on the type of equipment and the specific scenario. The detailed steps are as follows:

1. Wiring for the Urinal Sensor
- Power Supply Selection:
- AC Transformer Power Supply: Use a male-female plug for connection. The two exposed terminals are for AC power wiring, with the power output divided into two sets of wires (one set for each male-female terminal). Ensure that the transformer voltage matches the sensor (usually 12V or 24V).
- External Battery Power Supply: If using a battery, do not connect to the AC power supply. Instead, supply power through a paired male-female plug (the red male-female wires are the power wires), and then connect the control power from the sensor output to the solenoid valve.
- Control Methods:
- Automatic Sensing: The sensor detects human signals through infrared or microwave and triggers the solenoid valve to flush water, without the need for additional wiring adjustments.
- Button Switch Control: Directly insert the solenoid valve wiring plug into the sensor power output plug and manually trigger flushing by pressing the button.
2. Power Connection for Eco-Friendly Mobile Toilets
- Qualifications and Safety:
- The operation must be carried out by a licensed electrician, and a unit or individual with formal power construction qualifications should be selected.
- Check whether the power cord specifications meet the equipment power requirements. Temporary power cords should be waterproof and sun-resistant cables (such as YJV type).
- Grounding and Protection:
- All equipment must be reliably grounded, with a grounding resistance of ≤4Ω. The grounding body should be made of galvanized steel pipe or angle steel, buried at a depth of ≥0.6 meters, and regularly tested for effectiveness.
- When the cable length exceeds 10 meters, a residual current device (with an operating current of ≤30mA) should be installed.
- Distribution Box Requirements:
- Install it in a dry and ventilated place. The box body should be rainproof, and the internal circuit breaker should match the equipment power.
- It is strictly prohibited to privately connect wires or overload the power supply. Avoid directly connecting high-power equipment (such as air conditioners and electric water heaters) to sockets.
3. Temporary Power Supply Line Laying for Municipal Mobile Toilets
- Power Supply Plan Formulation:
- Calculate the total load based on the number of toilets and power requirements (such as lighting and ventilation), and use an independent distribution box to avoid sharing lines with other equipment.
- Line Laying Specifications:
- Overhead Lines: The height should be ≥2.5 meters, and maintain a safety distance of ≥0.5 meters from ground objects.
- Buried Lines: Protect them by running them through PVC pipes, with a burial depth of ≥0.7 meters, avoiding water sources, heat sources, and vehicle rolling areas.
- Connectors and Protection:
- The line connectors should be wrapped and fixed with insulating tape, and bare connections are strictly prohibited. Install waterproof boxes for external sockets and set inspection points every 10 meters.
- Regularly test the grounding resistance (≤4Ω). After construction is completed, it should be inspected by professionals to ensure no damage and normal grounding.
Precautions: All operations must comply with the "Code for Design of Low Voltage Electrical Installations" (GB 50054) and local electrical safety standards. Non-professionals are strictly prohibited from connecting wires or modifying circuits without authorization.
