How to Transport Container Houses

Admin September 16, 2026

Container houses can be transported using tools such as trucks, flatbed trucks, semi-trailers with chassis, and low-bed transport vehicles. Foldable container houses can also be directly loaded into standard shipping containers for transportation.

  • Short-distance transportation: For distances within 300 kilometers, tilt trucks are a suitable choice. These trucks can tilt at an angle to allow the container to slide to the ground without the need for additional equipment for loading and unloading. However, before use, ensure that there is sufficient space at the site and that the ground is dry and level to avoid damage to the container or difficulties in loading and unloading due to ground issues.

  • Long-distance transportation: For long-distance transportation exceeding 300 kilometers, flatbed trucks are more cost-effective. Their open cargo compartments require the use of forklifts or cranes for loading and unloading containers. For transporting high containers, low-bed transport vehicles can be chosen. Their unique "step" design allows them to transport high containers that exceed the limits of standard flatbed trucks, and they offer good stability during transportation with the same loading and unloading methods as flatbed trucks.

  • Professional transportation: Semi-trailers with chassis are cargo trailers specifically designed for transporting containers. The chassis vehicles come with container lockboxes that can secure the containers through corner fittings, ensuring safety during long-distance transportation. When loading and unloading containers onto chassis vehicles, crane operations are required.

  • Foldable transportation: For foldable container houses, if the folded dimensions fully comply with the loading specifications of standard shipping containers, they can be directly loaded into standard shipping containers for transportation without the need for additional custom transport carriers. This transportation method can effectively reduce transportation costs and improve transportation efficiency, especially suitable for cross-regional and cross-border transportation scenarios.

  • Loading and unloading tools: Forklifts and cranes are commonly used tools for loading and unloading containers. Forklifts should be selected to be capable of lifting at least 15,000 pounds, with sufficiently wide arms and sufficient power to avoid damaging the containers and trucks. Cranes have a greater lifting capacity and are more convenient to operate, but they require a special operating license or a professional operator.
