How to Transport Container Houses
The transportation of container houses mainly adopts two methods: integral hoisting transportation and modular split transportation, with the specific choice depending on the house design, transportation distance, and cost requirements.

1. Integral Hoisting Transportation
For houses with compact structures and dimensions that fit standard containers, they can be directly prefabricated in the factory and then hoisted as a whole onto transportation carriers (such as cargo ships, train cars, or trucks) for long-distance transportation. For example, the box-type houses produced by Hunan Yi'anju Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. are packaged as a single unit by integrating the roof, floor, columns, and panels. Their dimensions are strictly controlled within the range of standard containers, allowing for direct ocean transportation. The advantage of this method lies in its convenient on-site installation. Upon arrival at the destination, only simple connections to water and electricity are required before the house can be put into use, significantly shortening the construction period.
2. Modular Split Transportation
For large or structurally complex container houses, a modular design is typically adopted, where the house is divided into multiple independent modules (such as room modules and steel structure roof trusses) for transportation. For example, the modular houses built by China Construction Integration Building Intelligent Manufacturing (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. for an Australian project were disassembled into several independent modules in the factory and then transported by cargo ship across the ocean for on-site assembly. The core advantage of modular transportation lies in reducing the volume per transportation, improving transportation efficiency, and minimizing losses during transportation. Additionally, foldable packing boxes are a typical representative of modular transportation. Their design features a small transportation volume, with dimensions that can be compressed to less than 50% of the original volume after folding, or even fully compliant with the loading specifications of standard shipping containers, eliminating the need for additional custom transportation carriers.
3. Selection of Transportation Methods
According to transportation distance and cost requirements, the transportation methods for container houses can be flexibly selected from sea transportation, rail transportation, or road transportation. Sea transportation is suitable for cross-regional, long-distance transportation with relatively low costs; rail transportation is applicable to inland countries such as the five Central Asian countries and Russia, achieving efficient transportation through dedicated lines like the China-Europe Railway Express; road transportation is more suitable for short-distance transfers or the final delivery before on-site hoisting.
