How to Ship Mobile Toilets

Admin September 20, 2026

The shipping or transportation method for mobile toilets should be selected based on their type, size, weight, and transportation distance. Common methods include road, rail, waterway transportation, as well as hoisting and manual handling in special scenarios. Details are as follows:

Road transportation is the most widely used method and can be divided into three categories based on the specifications of mobile toilets:

  1. Flatbed truck transportation: Suitable for small, single-unit mobile toilets (such as single-stall, simple models), which can be directly secured on a flatbed truck. Its advantages include low cost and high flexibility, making it suitable for short-distance delivery within or around cities. However, it is essential to ensure firm securing to prevent shifting or damage due to transportation vibrations.
  2. Enclosed truck transportation: For multi-stall combined or high-end customized mobile toilets (such as those equipped with sinks, smart systems, etc.), enclosed trucks provide a closed space that effectively protects against wind, rain, and dust, making them suitable for long-distance or inter-provincial transportation. Before transportation, it is necessary to accurately measure the internal dimensions of the truck to ensure that the height and width of the toilet match the车厢 (cargo space), avoiding loading difficulties due to insufficient space.
  3. Specialized transportation racks: For large or irregularly shaped mobile toilets (such as multi-story structures, barrier-free designs), customized transportation racks can distribute pressure and reduce the risk of deformation caused by vibrations during transportation. This method offers door-to-door service without the need for transshipment, making it suitable for urgent or customized needs. However, long-distance transportation costs are higher, and it is subject to road height and width restrictions.

Rail transportation is suitable for long-distance, large-volume scenarios:

  1. Container transportation: Mobile toilets are disassembled into modules and loaded into standard containers for rail transportation to a nearby station at the destination, followed by road delivery. This method is less costly than road transportation, especially suitable for inter-provincial or cross-border transportation (such as China-Europe freight trains). However, it requires coordination of disassembly and assembly processes and has a longer transportation time.
  2. Full-vehicle transportation: Complete small, single-unit mobile toilets are directly loaded onto rail flatbed trucks, suitable for non-disassemblable models. Freight costs are lower, but transshipment is required, and the transportation cycle is longer. It is necessary to confirm the loading plan with the railway department in advance.

Waterway transportation is characterized by its low cost:

  1. Full-container transportation: Mobile toilets are loaded into containers and transported by cargo ships, suitable for bulk exports or heavy equipment. Freight costs are the lowest, but transportation time is the longest, and it is significantly affected by weather and port conditions.
  2. Bulk cargo transportation: Large mobile toilets are directly secured on the deck of cargo ships, requiring additional reinforcement. Freight costs are also low, but the cycle is long, making it suitable for scenarios with low time requirements.

Special scenario transportation requires targeted handling:

  1. Hoisting transportation: For large mobile toilets that cannot be transported by conventional vehicles (such as those installed on rooftops or high-altitude platforms), cranes are used to hoist them onto transportation vehicles or directly to the installation location, requiring professional team operation to ensure safety.
  2. Manual handling: Suitable for ultra-small mobile toilets (such as portable eco-friendly toilets) or narrow spaces (such as staircases in old residential areas), completed by human or small equipment (such as forklifts, hand trucks).

For mailing portable toilets (small mobile toilets), options such as Best Express or Postal Express can be chosen. They should be packaged with foam and cardboard boxes first, and then reinforced with wooden frames to prevent damage. When returning large mobile toilets, the original packaging should be restored and reinforced with wooden frames (charged by volume). Priority should be given to logistics companies such as JD Heavy Cargo or Deppon Heavy Cargo, paying attention to the dual charging rules for weight and volume (charged based on the higher of the two).
