How to Replace Wires in a Container House
Admin September 16, 2026
Replacing wires buried in the walls of a container house requires selecting an appropriate method based on the condition of the old wires and strictly adhering to safety regulations and construction requirements, as follows:

1. Safety Preparation
Cut off the power supply: Before replacement, ensure that the power supply is completely cut off. Use a professional electric pen or voltage tester to confirm and prevent electric shock accidents.
2. Assess the Condition of the Old Wires
- If the old wires are reasonably laid out and have conduits: Try to tie the new wires together with the old wires and pull out the old wires from the conduits while threading in the new ones. This method is suitable for cases where the old wires are not aged and are fixed correctly.
- If the old wires cannot be pulled out: This may be due to aging or improper fixation, and other methods should be considered at this time.
3. Select a Replacement Method
- Re-channelling and wiring:
- Applicable scenarios: Renovation of old houses or large-scale circuit renovations.
- Key operation points: Re-chisel channels along the direction of the original wiring and lay conduits for threading wires. This method is thorough but costly, highly destructive, and has a long construction period, so the pros and cons need to be weighed.
- Running exposed wires:
- Applicable scenarios: When pursuing lower costs and simpler construction.
- Key operation points: Install wire channels or conduits on the wall and expose the wires. This method facilitates later maintenance but affects aesthetics, so the wire routing needs to be reasonably planned.
4. Ensure the Quality and Safety of the New Wires
- Purchase new wires: Select wires with thick insulation layers and good conductivity to ensure that the quality meets standards.
- Follow construction specifications: Ensure that the wires are connected correctly and fixed securely. Use insulating tape to wrap the connection boxes properly to prevent electric leakage.
5. Testing and Finalization
- Circuit testing: Use professional tools to test the connectivity and safety of the circuit to ensure that everything is normal before reconnecting the power supply.
- Reserve concealed boxes: Reserve several concealed boxes at wire corners or during long-distance laying to facilitate later maintenance and replacement.
- Protective conduits: Ensure that all wires are threaded through protective conduits to prevent damage or electric leakage.
