How to Replace the Floor of a Mobile Toilet

Admin October 05, 2026

The replacement of the floor in a mobile toilet should be carried out according to standardized procedures, with a particular focus on waterproofing and floor drain treatment. The specific steps are as follows:

I. Basic Preparations

  1. Turn off the water supply: Before replacement, thoroughly turn off all water sources in the toilet (such as the toilet tank and sink valves) to prevent water from seeping into the structural layer during construction.
  2. Waterproofing measures: Lay waterproof cloth or plastic film on the floor and surrounding walls (especially at the junctions with adjacent rooms or the floor below) to prevent water from construction or cleaning from seeping through.
  3. Tool preparation: Prepare tools such as hammers, chisels, tile cutters (for cutting floor tiles), brushes, trowels, spirit levels, tile adhesive or cement mortar, and cf-2000 cement-based waterproofing agents.

II. Removal of the Old Floor

  1. Tool operation: Use a hammer and chisel to strike along the edges of the floor tiles and gradually pry up the old tiles. If the tiles are firmly bonded to the floor, first use a tile cutter to cut along the seams to reduce the difficulty of removal.
  2. Protect the structure: During removal, avoid damaging the waterproof layer (usually a waterproof coating or membrane applied to the structural layer) and the drainage pipes to prevent later leakage. If any damage to the waterproof layer is found, record the location for subsequent repair.
  3. Clean up residues: After removing the old tiles, use a scraper or broom to clear away residual cement mortar, glue, and other debris from the floor to ensure a flat and even base layer without sharp protrusions.

III. Special Treatment of the Floor Drain (Key Step)

  1. Slot cutting: Using the floor drain opening as the center, chisel a circular slot 2-3 centimeters wide and 3 centimeters deep around it. The depth should penetrate any possible void layers until it reaches a solid structure.
  2. Clean the slot: Rinse the dust inside the slot with clean water, then use a brush dipped in diluted cleaning agent (such as a neutral detergent) to scrub, ensuring no oil stains or debris remain.
  3. Fill with waterproofing agent: Mix the cf-2000 cement-based waterproofing agent to a paste consistency according to the ratio, quickly fill the slot, and compact and smooth it with a trowel to ensure tight adhesion between the waterproofing agent and the slot walls. Continuously compact during the setting phase (within about 30 minutes) to avoid air pockets.
  4. Leakage test: After the waterproofing agent dries (usually takes 24 hours), slowly pour water into the floor drain until the water surface covers the drain opening. Observe for more than 2 hours to confirm no leakage before proceeding to the next step.

IV. Laying the New Floor

  1. Layout design: Pre-arrange according to the floor dimensions and tile specifications, minimizing cutting and maintaining uniform seams (usually 1-2 millimeters). For the floor drain area, cut the tiles into a "回" (square spiral) shape or fan shape to ensure the drainage slope tilts towards the floor drain.
  2. Adhesion and fixation: Use a notched trowel to evenly apply tile adhesive or cement mortar on the floor, lay the tiles in the pre-arranged order, gently tap with a rubber mallet to adjust the flatness, and use a spirit level to check if the four corners are level.
  3. Grouting treatment: After laying the tiles for 24 hours, fill the seams with grout, wipe off any residual grout on the surface, and perform a second cleaning after the grout dries (about 4-6 hours).
