How to Repair Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The repair of container houses requires distinguishing the scope of the warranty, performing regular maintenance, conducting self-checks when problems arise, and addressing damage in a targeted manner.

Distinguish the Scope of the Warranty

The warranty for container mobile homes typically covers three areas: structure, enclosure, and utilities, as specified in the contract. Structural components such as the main frame and C-shaped steel welds generally have a warranty of 1 to 3 years; enclosure components such as color-coated steel sheets, doors, windows, and sealing strips usually have a warranty of 6 to 12 months, excluding damage caused by human impact. The warranty does not cover deformation resulting from unauthorized drilling, overloading, or failure to reinforce after typhoons, as well as normal rusting and paint wear. It is recommended to take photos of the warranty scope upon receipt to avoid disputes due to misunderstandings during repair requests.

Perform Regular Maintenance

In Guangxi, where humidity is high and the rainy season is long, the focus of maintenance is on drainage and rust prevention. Check the roof and gutters monthly for blockages caused by fallen leaves; inspect the sealing strips on doors and windows quarterly for aging; repaint welds and bottom beams with anti-rust paint every six months; tighten bolts and inspect electrical connections annually, preferably with the assistance of an electrician. Regular maintenance can reduce repair costs and prevent minor issues from escalating into major problems.

Conduct Self-Checks When Problems Arise

Spend 10 minutes conducting a self-check before requesting repairs; approximately one-third of minor issues can be resolved on the spot. For example, determine whether a leak is due to joint seepage or panel damage—joint issues can often be fixed with sealant; check if a door lock issue is simply due to loose screws or debris in the track—tightening and cleaning usually restore functionality; if there is a power trip, reset the residual current device first, then check for simultaneous use of high-power appliances; odors are often caused by water accumulation and moisture at the bottom—elevating the container and improving drainage can alleviate the issue; for deformation, monitor minor cases and immediately discontinue use and contact the manufacturer for significant deformation.
