How to Repair Container Houses

Admin September 16, 2026

The repair of container houses should be carried out according to the type and extent of damage, combined with their structural characteristics. Here are some common repair points:

1. Structural Frame Repair

Container houses are centered around steel frames. After long-term use, issues such as rust at welding points and frame deformation may occur. During repair, first remove the rusted areas and apply anti-rust paint for protection. If the frame is deformed, use hydraulic equipment to correct it to ensure structural stability. For severely damaged frames, replace them with standard channel steel or columns, with a column thickness of no less than 1mm to ensure load-bearing capacity.

2. Wall and Roof Repair

Walls and roofs are often made of color-steel sandwich panels or corrugated sheets, with common issues including sheet deformation and joint leakage. During repair, first check the fixing of the sheets and re-secure any loose areas. If the sheets are deformed, replace them with new ones or correct them with professional equipment. For joint leakage, clean the original sealant and refill it with weather-resistant sealant to ensure waterproof performance. For the roof, also check if the drainage system is unobstructed to avoid water accumulation and leakage.

3. Door and Window Repair

Doors and windows are weak points in container houses, prone to issues such as poor sealing and damaged hardware. During repair, check if the connection between the door/window frame and the wall is loose and re-seal it with adhesive. Replace damaged hardware such as locks and hinges to ensure smooth operation. For glass doors and windows, check if the glass is broken and replace it promptly, then re-seal it.

4. Anti-corrosion and Fire Protection Treatment

Container houses require regular anti-corrosion and fire protection maintenance. Anti-corrosion treatment includes removing surface rust and applying anti-rust paint and topcoat. Fire protection treatment involves checking the integrity of fire-resistant floors and wall materials and replacing or repairing damaged areas. Additionally, ensure that the house is equipped with fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment to enhance safety.

5. Floor and Circuit Repair

Floors are often made of fire-resistant floors or wooden floors. During repair, check if the floor is warped or cracked and replace damaged parts promptly. The circuit system should be regularly checked for aged or short-circuited wires, and aged wires should be replaced to ensure electrical safety. For prefabricated circuit systems, check if the connections are loose, re-secure them, and test their functionality.
