How to Quickly Store Portable Toilets

Admin October 08, 2026

Quick storage of portable toilets requires following standardized procedures to ensure hygiene, safety, and equipment durability. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Immediate Handling After Use

After use, immediately seal the excreta collection device. For models with built-in specialized garbage bags or collection bags, quickly tighten the bag opening to prevent odor diffusion. If the device is equipped with a lid design, close the lid promptly to block odor escape. This step avoids pollution risks caused by odor or liquid leakage during subsequent operations.

2. Proper Disposal of Excreta

The excreta disposal methods for mainstream portable toilets fall into two categories:

  • Portable Toilets/Collection Bags: After defecation, add a coagulant or deodorant to solidify the excreta and reduce odor, then seal the bag opening and place it in a specialized garbage bag for disposal.
  • Biodegradable System Devices: Operate according to the instructions. The liquid part is usually discharged through a dedicated pipeline to a designated area, and the solid part is recycled by a professional agency or disposed of as instructed. It is strictly prohibited to discharge untreated excreta directly into the natural environment to avoid polluting soil or water sources.

3. Equipment Cleaning and Deodorization

After removing the sealed waste, thoroughly clean the toilet bowl or inner bucket:

  • Use a damp cloth with dish detergent or a specialized cleaner to wipe the surface. For stubborn stains, choose a cleaner containing decontamination and disinfection ingredients, or use a natural combination of baking soda and white vinegar (mixed in a 1:1 ratio).
  • If the device contains electronic components (such as an automatic flushing device), do not rinse it directly with water; simply wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
  • Before each use, place a small amount of deodorizing gel or disinfectant pad in the inner bucket to prevent odor generation.

4. Drying and Inspection

After cleaning, ensure that all key parts are completely dry, especially around folding joints and electronic components, to prevent bacterial growth or metal part rusting. Additionally, regularly check whether the folding joints are loose. If structural instability is found, adjust or repair it promptly to ensure the equipment is stable during storage.

5. Easy Storage

After the equipment is completely dry, choose a storage method according to the model:

  • Folding Toilets: Fold according to the design path and lock the buckles to prevent accidental unfolding during transportation.
  • Packing Toilets: After folding, place them in a specialized storage bag, being careful not to exceed the product's weight limit to avoid damaging the structure or causing the storage bag to rupture.

By following these steps, you can achieve efficient and hygienic storage of portable toilets while extending the equipment's service life.
