How to Move the Toilet Seat Cover
The method for moving a toilet seat cover depends on its structural type. Here are common types and their operating methods:

1. Moving the toilet seat cover along the slot If the toilet seat cover has a push-button style at the bottom, first locate the snap-fit structure where the cover connects to the toilet. Press the snap-fit with one hand (usually located on both sides at the bottom of the cover) while gently pushing the cover upward to slide it along the slot to the desired position. For models with hidden screw fixation, first locate the screw holes at the back or bottom of the toilet, use a screwdriver of the corresponding size to loosen the screws counterclockwise (no need to completely remove them), then adjust the position of the cover and refasten the screws. Ensure the screws are tightened appropriately during operation to prevent the cover from wobbling or the slot from misaligning.
2. Moving the toilet seat cover after removal If you need to completely remove the toilet seat cover and then adjust its position, choose the corresponding method based on the fixation type:
- Unscrewing for removal: Use a screwdriver to loosen the fixing screws where the cover connects to the toilet (usually located at the bottom or back of the cover), rotate the screws counterclockwise until the cover can move freely, then move the cover to the desired position and refasten it.
- Stretching for removal: For models with a snap-fit design, directly lift the edge of the cover with your hand while slightly twisting the cover to detach it from the slot, and then install it in reverse after moving.
- Pressing for removal: Some covers require pressing the snap-fit at the bottom while pushing upward to separate the cover from the toilet, then align the slot and press down again to fix it after moving. It is recommended to take a photo of the original position before removal to avoid installation errors; avoid using excessive force during operation to prevent the snap-fit from breaking.
3. Moving the squat toilet cover The moving method for a squat toilet cover varies depending on the type:
- Manual pressing type: Gently press the button on the edge of the cover or抠动 (this Chinese verb might be better translated as 'pull' or 'pry' depending on the exact design, here we use 'pull' for general understanding) the groove, and the cover will automatically pop up or slide. Release the button to fix it after moving.
- Lifting ring type: Grasp the lifting ring at the top of the cover, pull it straight up to the maximum height, move the cover to the desired position, and then slowly lower it. The lifting ring will automatically reset.
- Foot-pedal type: Gently step on the switch at the bottom or side of the cover with your foot (some models require continuous pressing), move the cover after it opens, and release your foot to let the cover fall back and fix it. Pay attention to aligning the cover with the squat toilet during operation to avoid poor sealing or inconvenience in use due to position misalignment.
Precautions:
- Before moving, check whether there are any aged or damaged parts (such as snap-fits, screws, tracks) at the connection between the cover and the toilet/squat toilet, and replace them if necessary.
- If the cover moves stiffly, apply a small amount of lubricant (such as silicone grease) to the slot or track to reduce friction.
- Avoid using violent methods for removal or moving to prevent the cover from breaking or the connecting parts from being damaged.
