How to Move the Toilet Seat Board
The toilet seat board (toilet) can be moved using the following methods, and an appropriate solution should be selected based on the actual distance and conditions:

Use a toilet offset flange Suitable for short-distance adjustments (within 40 centimeters), it achieves relocation by extending the sewage pipe. During installation, ensure that the pipe slope is not less than 3% (similar to the slope of a slide) to prevent poor drainage and blockages. The offset flange is usually 5 centimeters deep and is buried in the sand-cement layer. Its sewage outlet diameter should be larger than that of the original toilet. If tiles are to be installed, calculate the height of the floor elevation in advance to prevent installation conflicts later.
Raise the floor When the relocation distance exceeds 1 meter, the new pipe can be hidden by raising the bathroom floor (about 18 centimeters). This method ensures smooth drainage but reduces the ceiling height, and the step may pose safety hazards to the elderly and children. During construction, ensure a reasonable floor slope and provide anti-slip treatment.
Wall-mounted toilet (rear-discharge type) Relocate the sewage outlet to the wall, requiring pre-installation of a water tank and pipes inside the wall. The pipes must be laid in a straight line with a slope to prevent blockages caused by bends. This solution is suitable for minimalist decorating styles but is more costly and must be compatible with the wall structure.
Modify the sewage pipe in the ceiling of the downstairs neighbor If the downstairs neighbor has not yet renovated, you can negotiate to modify the sewage pipe in their ceiling. Three conditions must be met: neighbor's consent, property management approval, and proper waterproofing. This method involves cross-house construction, making coordination more difficult, and there is a risk of water leakage later.
Same-floor drainage solutions
- Raised type: Hide the pipes by raising the bathroom floor (similar to "height-increasing insoles"). This method is flexible in construction but occupies ceiling height.
- Sunken type: Utilize the sunken bathroom structure (sunken floor) to lay pipes, providing the best drainage effect. However, it requires planning during the initial renovation stage and involves a larger amount of construction work.
Precautions:
- It is not recommended to relocate the toilet more than 80 centimeters, as excessive distance can lead to poor drainage or blockages.
- Mark the position of the offset flange during relocation, lower the height of the original pipe after drilling holes in the floor tiles, and clean the sand-cement to prevent it from falling into the pipe.
- All solutions must prioritize ensuring the drainage slope, and the outlet should be appropriately raised after relocation to enhance drainage power.
Select a solution based on specific needs (such as distance, budget, and house structure) and consult professional construction personnel to ensure compliance.
