How to Move the Cat Litter Box
The method for moving the cat litter box should be selected based on the moving scenario, which can be divided into three categories: outdoor relocation, indoor position adjustment, and convenient movement.

If relocating the litter box to an outdoor area, prioritize choosing a corner that is sheltered from wind and rain and away from human activity zones. Ensure that the target location has good drainage and is equipped with natural cover such as shrubs. When moving the litter box, shift it at a rate of 0.5-1 meter per day, while retaining the original box's scent (e.g., by placing paper towels with cat excrement on it). The moving path should avoid vehicle lanes and garbage dumping areas. During the relocation period (3-7 days), closely monitor the cat's defecation patterns: if the defecation frequency decreases by more than 30% or the defecation location shifts, pause the relocation and move the box back by 50% of the distance. The final target area should be equipped with a windbreak fence (height ≥ 40 cm) and a UV disinfection device (automatically activated twice a day), while maintaining a distance of more than 3 meters from the food bowl to meet hygiene isolation standards.
If relocating the litter box to another indoor location (such as the bathroom), adopt a gradual adaptation method. First, move the litter box directly to the target location (e.g., beside the bathroom toilet) and leave it there for a week. After the cat adapts to the new environment, raise the litter box by 7.6-10.2 cm every 2-3 days and gradually move it closer to the toilet until its height matches that of the toilet. Finally, place the litter box on the toilet seat for 3-4 days. After the cat fully adapts, replace it with a training seat filled with flushable cat litter. This method reduces stress reactions in cats caused by sudden environmental changes through dual transitions in height and position.
If frequent movement of the litter box is required and convenience is a priority, install a dedicated mobile base. When assembling, first fix the directional wheels (tighten the diagonal positions with self-tapping screws), then install the support plate and secure its position with adjusting nuts, and finally place the litter box steadily. During cleaning, simply lift the litter box upward to remove it without moving the entire base. This solution is particularly suitable for multi-cat households or scenarios requiring regular home layout adjustments, significantly reducing manual handling burdens.
All moving operations should be adjusted based on the cat's behavioral feedback. If abnormal behaviors such as persistent refusal to use the box or anxious pacing occur, immediately pause the relocation and restore the box to its original position.
