How to Move Rural Renovated Toilets

Admin October 06, 2026

The relocation of rural renovated toilets needs to be handled in three ways according to specific circumstances: legal relocation, illegal relocation, and installation of mobile toilets.

Legal Toilet Relocation

If a rural toilet is legally constructed, meaning it complies with local planning and land management regulations, does not occupy illegal land such as farmland or public roads, and does not affect the lives of others or cause environmental pollution, its relocation must follow legal procedures. First, it requires approval from relevant departments and handling of formalities. If relocation is necessary for public interests (such as infrastructure construction or public welfare projects), relevant departments should make a requisition decision and announce it, clarifying the reasons, scope, and timing of the relocation, and sign a compensation agreement with the toilet owner to provide reasonable compensation. For example, if a village needs to relocate a legal toilet due to road construction, the government must announce it in advance and negotiate a compensation plan to ensure the owner's rights and interests.

Illegal Toilet Relocation

If a toilet is an illegal structure (such as being built without approval or in violation of planning and land regulations), relevant departments have the right to handle it according to law. The first step is to investigate and collect evidence to confirm the illegal facts. The second step is to make a decision ordering relocation within a specified time limit and serve it on the owner, requiring them to relocate the toilet on their own within the specified time limit. The third step is to urge compliance. If the owner does not relocate within the time limit, relevant departments will urge them again. The fourth step is forced relocation. If the toilet is still not relocated after being urged and there is no legitimate reason, relevant departments can make a decision on forced relocation according to law and implement it following legal procedures. For example, if a household illegally occupies farmland to build a toilet, after investigation, they are ordered to demolish it within a specified time limit. If they fail to do so by the deadline, the government will enforce the demolition.

Installation of Mobile Toilets

If there is a need to quickly solve the toilet problem, the installation of mobile toilets can be chosen. The first type is outdoor mobile single toilets, which are 1.1 meters by 1.1 meters in size and 2.35 meters high. They are equipped with a squat toilet, a five-hole socket, and waterproof and anti-slip floors. They can be used within 10 minutes after connecting to water and electricity, suitable for temporary needs. The second type is rural household mobile small bathrooms, which are made of steel or plastic. They are equipped with a squat toilet and a flush tank, and some can be used for bathing. Prices vary according to configuration (ranging from 400 to 5000 yuan). The site selection should be more than 30 meters away from water sources. Two people can complete the installation in half a day. It is recommended to choose a higher location to avoid water accumulation. For example, if a farmer needs a temporary toilet due to house renovation, choosing to install a mobile single toilet is both convenient and economical.
