How to Modify the Floor of a Container House
Admin September 17, 2026
Modifying the floor of a container house requires following standardized procedures. The specific steps are as follows:

I. Preparation
- Material Selection: Determine the new floor material (such as plywood or steel plate) based on usage requirements. It should be durable, moisture-resistant, and slip-resistant, and ensure the dimensions match the interior of the container.
- Site Preparation: Clear the construction site and measure the interior dimensions of the container to ensure the base levelness error is within the specified range. If the ground is uneven, level it with cement mortar.
- Safety Inspection: Empty the container of cargo and prepare tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, cutting machines, etc.) and safety equipment (gloves, helmets, etc.).
II. Removing the Old Floor
- Removing Fasteners: Use a wrench, crowbar, or screwdriver to remove bolts, nails, or fasteners from the old floor, avoiding damage to the bottom structure of the container.
- Cutting Connected Parts: If the floor is tightly connected to the frame, use a cutting machine to separate it, taking care to protect the container frame and other components.
- Cleaning the Base: Remove debris, dust, and rust from the bottom, sand it smooth, and ensure it is dry to create conditions for installing the new floor.
III. Installing the New Floor
- Laying and Joining: Start laying the new floor from the corner of the container, joining the pieces one by one and adjusting their positions to ensure they are flat and secure. Cut the edges to fully cover the ground.
- Fixing Methods:
- Glue or Clips: Use specialized glue or clips to enhance stability.
- Screw Fixing: Secure the floor to the frame with screws, applying even pressure to avoid gaps or looseness.
- Tight Fit: Ensure there are no gaps during joining to prevent dust and moisture from entering.
IV. Post-Installation Processing
- Surface Inspection: Check if the floor is flat and address any gaps at the joints (e.g., fill with sealant).
- Stability Testing: Confirm that the floor is secure and check for any unusual noises or abnormalities inside the container.
- Moisture and Slip Resistance Treatment:
- Lay waterproof cloth, moisture-resistant pads, or apply waterproof coatings.
- Prevent the floor from rotting due to moisture or becoming slippery.
- Cleaning Up: Remove construction debris and keep the interior of the container clean.
Precautions: Strictly follow safety regulations during operation to avoid damaging the container structure; material selection should meet the requirements of the usage environment (e.g., enhanced moisture resistance in humid areas).
