How to Make Prefabricated Partition Walls for Houses
Admin September 19, 2026
The production of prefabricated partition walls for houses involves several steps, including preliminary preparation, factory prefabrication, on-site installation, surface treatment, and acceptance. The specific process is as follows:

I. Preliminary Construction Preparation
- Technical Verification and On-site Layout Marking
Verify the construction drawings against the actual site dimensions to ensure that the partition wall locations do not conflict with the building structure or utility points. Arrange the layout according to the design dimensions, prioritizing the use of full panels to minimize cutting. Mark the partition wall positioning lines on the floor and ceiling to provide a reference for subsequent installation. - Material Inspection and Storage Upon Arrival
Check the factory certificates and test reports of the prefabricated partition panels to confirm that performance indicators such as sound insulation and fire resistance meet standards. Inspect the appearance for cracks, missing edges, or chipped corners during inspection. After inspection, store the panels upright on wooden blocks with an inclination angle not exceeding 15° to prevent deformation.
II. Prefabrication of Partition Panels (Completed in Factory)
Produce formed panels or full-width components in the factory according to design requirements. Common types include:
- Lightweight Panel Partition Walls: Such as lightweight panels made of ceramsite concrete, which are lightweight yet strong.
- Composite Sandwich Prefabricated Partition Panels: Such as gypsum board with rock wool, offering both sound insulation and fire resistance.
- Modular Integrated Prefabricated Partitions: Including pre-installed components such as door frames and windows, allowing for direct on-site assembly.
III. On-site Installation
- Tool and Material Preparation
Prepare galvanized square tubes, prefabricated welded connectors, films, varnishes, etc., and complete the construction of the ground beam (marking lines → inserting rebar → formwork erection → grouting → curing) to ensure a stable connection between the ground beam and the partition wall. - Installation of Prefabricated Panels
Accurately align the embedded parts of the wall panels with those on the ground beam, walls, and ceiling, and secure them through welding or specialized connectors to ensure the verticality and stability of the panels. - Detail Handling
Reserve height at the door frame location and reinforce with wooden blocks. Install sound insulation cotton in the slots to reduce noise. Seal the joints between wall panels with specialized adhesive to prevent air leakage or water infiltration.
IV. Surface Treatment and Edge Finishing
- Gypsum Board Installation
Start installing large gypsum boards from the door edge upwards, trimming excess parts with a utility knife. Install sound insulation cotton in the recesses on the reverse side, then apply another layer of gypsum board on the surface to enhance sound insulation. - Edge Finishing and Anti-crack Treatment
Wrap aluminum alloy edge strips on both sides of the door frame and secure them with screws. Apply mesh and white cement, and adhere kraft paper to the surface to prevent cracking, ensuring a flat surface.
V. Painting and Acceptance
After applying putty powder for painting both inside and outside, check the flatness, verticality, and fixed stability of the partition wall to ensure compliance with design specifications. During acceptance, focus on checking whether the joints are tight and whether the sound insulation effect meets standards, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics of the partition wall.
