How to Make a Prefabricated Cement House Roof

Admin September 19, 2026

Common methods for constructing a prefabricated cement house roof include cast-in-place concrete roofs, precast panel roofing, and following specific construction plans.

Cast-in-Place Concrete Roof: This is a more traditional and common approach. During construction, formwork must first be erected on the roof surface, ensuring it is level and sturdy to provide stable support for subsequent concrete pouring. Concrete is then poured on-site, typically using an appropriate mix ratio to ensure its strength and durability. Once the concrete hardens, a robust roof is formed. This type of roof offers excellent load-bearing capacity and can effectively withstand natural disasters such as strong winds and earthquakes. Additionally, its flat surface facilitates the installation of facilities like solar water heaters and photovoltaic panels. However, to enhance waterproofing performance, a waterproof layer is usually applied to the concrete surface, such as by brushing on waterproof coatings or laying waterproof membranes.

Precast Panel Roofing: Precast panels include cement precast panels, lightweight sandwich panels, etc. These are produced to standard specifications in factories and then transported to the construction site for installation. The advantage of this method is its fast construction speed, reducing on-site wet work and shortening the project duration. However, it imposes specific requirements on the overall design and structure of the house, necessitating precise design and planning in advance to ensure accurate installation of the precast panels and their stable connection to the house structure. Moreover, the cost of precast panel roofing is relatively high, including expenses for panel production, transportation, and installation. Similarly, waterproofing treatment is also required for precast panel roofing to prevent rainwater leakage.

Construction Plan for Prefabricated Cement House Roof:

  • Construction Preparation: In terms of materials, select P.O 42.5 ordinary Portland cement, medium sand as fine aggregate, 5-10mm crushed stone as coarse aggregate, and municipal tap water for mixing to ensure material quality. Use extruded polystyrene boards for the insulation layer, SBS modified bitumen waterproof membranes for the waterproof layer, polyurethane building sealant for sealing, and auxiliary materials including interface treatment agents, isolation layers, and steel mesh sheets. For equipment, equip with forced-action mortar mixers, concrete pumps, and electric trowels to ensure smooth construction.
  • Construction Process: This covers steps such as structural layer acceptance, surveying and setting out, pipe root sealing, base layer cleaning, watering for moisture, making screed strips, laying mortar, vibrating and compacting, surface finishing, curing, and dividing seam treatment. When surveying and setting out, screed strips are made according to a 2% drainage slope to ensure smooth roof drainage. For pipe root treatment, a circular groove is chiseled out at the root of pipes protruding from the roof, cleaned, coated with an interface treatment agent, and then poured with fine aggregate concrete to the height of the pipe root to prevent leakage at the pipe root.
