How to Make Prefabricated Ceiling for Houses
There are several construction methods for prefabricated ceilings in houses, and you can choose the appropriate one based on the actual situation:

1. Anti-crack Mortar Plastering Method
This method is suitable for the overall treatment of the surface of prefabricated panels or joint reinforcement. If overall reinforcement is required, anti-crack mortar can be plastered over the entire prefabricated ceiling to enhance structural stability through the adhesive and anti-crack properties of the mortar. If only joint treatment is needed, anti-crack mortar can be plastered only at the panel joints, focusing on filling the gaps and forming a continuous protective layer. During construction, attention should be paid to ensuring uniform mortar mix ratios and controlling the plastering thickness to 2-3mm to avoid cracking due to uneven thickness.
2. Reinforced Ceiling Method with Steel Bars and Wooden Blocks (Suitable for Circular-hole Prefabricated Panels)
- Hole Positioning: Use a hammer to chisel a hole measuring 80mm in length and 40mm in width at the center of the circular hole on the panel. Ensure the hole depth penetrates the panel thickness to provide space for steel bar insertion.
- Steel Bar Insertion: Insert a steel bar measuring 200mm in length and 14mm in diameter into the hole. The steel bar must be fully inserted and tightly fitted against the panel hole to prevent loosening.
- Wooden Block Fixation: Prepare a wooden block measuring 40mm×40mm and 150mm in length. Bind the wooden block firmly to the steel bar using No. 8 lead wire to form a "steel bar-wooden block" connection node, enhancing local load-bearing capacity.
- Main Joist Installation: Connect the main joist to the wooden block using hangers, ensuring the joist levelness error is ≤3mm to provide a stable base for subsequent ceiling panel installation.
3. Wooden Beam-Frame Assembly Method (Suitable for Hollow Prefabricated Panel Floors)
- Level Positioning: Snap a horizontal line around the walls to determine the ceiling height, with an error controlled within ±2mm to ensure ceiling flatness.
- Wooden Beam Fixation: Fix wooden beams along the horizontal line on the wall surface, with a spacing of ≤600mm. The wooden beams must be perpendicular to the wall to prevent ceiling deformation due to tilting.
- Connection Reinforcement: Drill holes at the joints between the wooden beams and the hollow prefabricated panel floor, and fix the connectors using expansion bolts or wooden wedges to ensure tight integration between the wooden beams and the floor.
- Frame Assembly: Assemble light steel joists or wooden joists into a grid-like frame with a spacing of ≤400mm. The frame must be firmly connected to the fixed wooden beams to prevent shaking.
- Panel Fixation: Fix ceiling panels (such as gypsum boards or calcium silicate boards) onto the frame, with panel joints staggered. Secure the panels using self-tapping screws with a spacing of ≤200mm, and finally, perform joint filling treatment at the panel joints.
Construction Precautions:
- Before construction, check the structural integrity of the prefabricated panels to eliminate hidden dangers such as cracks and looseness.
- All connectors (such as steel bars, wooden blocks, and joists) must undergo anti-corrosion treatment to extend their service life.
- The ceiling load must comply with design requirements to avoid structural damage caused by overloading.
