How to Make Mobile Toilets

Admin September 24, 2026

There are mainly two ways to make mobile toilets: making them using a water storage tank and using factory-prefabricated finished products. Here is a detailed introduction for you:

Making Mobile Toilets Using a Water Storage Tank

  1. Basic Modification: Take out a water storage tank from home and use an angle grinder to split it in half lengthwise. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to facilitate the movement of the toilet. Take a few wooden strips and fix them to the upper side of the tank with self-tapping screws to increase the height of the tank.
  2. Building the Door Frame and Walls: Use the angle grinder again to cut an opening on the side of the water storage tank. Install foam strips on both sides of the opening to form the door frame. Insert a piece of plastic soft board between the wooden strips to create raised walls.
  3. Constructing the Roof: Place the upper half of the water storage tank on top of the wooden strips to serve as the roof. To enhance aesthetics, paint the wooden strips with white waterproof paint.
  4. Making the Door: Use foam strips to join two discarded honeycomb wooden boards together to form a simple door.
  5. Installing the Drainage System: Use a hole-cutting tool to create an opening at the bottom of the tank and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Drill holes on the side and bottom of a plastic bucket and install direct connectors. Place the plastic bucket on the roof to create a small water storage device.
  6. Installing Bathing and Toilet Facilities: Connect the bath heater made of water pipes. Install a tee under the water inlet pipe and connect it to a showerhead. Place the toilet on the opening of the drain pipe and install the water tank. Secure the toilet with glass glue. Connect the drain pipe to the sewage tank. Horizontally connect a water pipe to the tee on the outlet pipe and extend it to the doorway to serve as the water inlet pipe for the sink. Install corresponding components at the connections.

Factory-Prefabricated Finished Mobile Toilets

Factory-prefabricated finished mobile toilets are usually composed of a frame structure welded from steel. Generally, the bottom is welded with channel steel or I-beams, and the columns are made of square steel, making the structure relatively sturdy and stable. Wall materials are installed on the basis of the walls, commonly including color-coated steel plates, fiberglass, stainless steel, and metal carved panels. These materials have different characteristics; for example, color-coated steel plates are relatively inexpensive and easy to install; fiberglass is corrosion-resistant; stainless steel is aesthetically pleasing and durable; and metal carved panels are highly decorative. The frame structure can meet the requirements for hoisting, facilitating easy movement and installation in different locations.
