How to Make Mobile Sanitation Toilets
Admin October 11, 2026
Mobile sanitation toilets can be achieved by modifying water storage containers and adding mobile structures. There are two common solutions, as detailed below:

Solution 1: Using a Water Storage Bucket
- Basic Structure Construction: Split a water storage bucket in half with an angle grinder. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for mobility. Use wooden strips and self-tapping screws to secure them to the upper side of the bucket, increasing height. Cut an opening on the side and install a sponge strip to form a door frame.
- Wall and Roof Installation: Embed plastic soft panels to form walls. Place the upper half of the water storage bucket as the roof and apply waterproof paint to enhance aesthetics. The waterproof paint not only protects the roof but also extends the overall lifespan of the toilet.
- Drainage and Water Storage System Setup: Drill a hole at the bottom to install a drainpipe, forming a floor drain. Drill a hole on the side to connect an interface and place a plastic bucket as a water storage device. This ensures proper drainage and storage of sewage, preventing overflow.
- Sanitary Facility Installation: Install a bath heater, toilet, and water tank made from water pipes. Connect the drainpipe to the sewage bucket and extend the water pipe to the doorway as the inlet for the sink. The bath heater provides a warm environment, while the toilet and water tank meet basic excretion needs. The sink facilitates post-use cleaning.
Solution 2: Using a Water Storage Tank and Pallet
- Mobile Structure Installation: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a plastic pallet and place a recycled water storage tank on it. The universal wheels allow the toilet to move flexibly, adapting to different site requirements.
- Water Storage Tank Modification: Use an angle grinder to cut the top of the water storage tank, forming an open tank. Stack two tanks and secure them with self-tapping screws. This increases the internal space of the toilet to meet usage needs.
- Doorway and Drainage System Setup: Cut a rectangular doorway measuring 180 cm in height and 50 cm in width. Drill a hole in the internal floor to install a drainage elbow and pipe. The appropriate doorway size facilitates easy entry and exit, while the drainage system ensures smooth sewage discharge.
- Sanitary Facility Fixing and Sealing: Secure the toilet and apply sealant. Install a faucet, stainless steel basin sink, toilet water tank, and showerhead. The sealant prevents sewage leakage and maintains internal cleanliness of the toilet.
- Door Fabrication and Installation: Fabricate a door using wooden boards and hinges and install a door handle. The door design ensures privacy for the toilet.
Both solutions are achieved by modifying water storage containers and adding mobile structures. Specific material selection and details can be adjusted according to actual needs.
