How to Make a Mobile Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

Mobile toilets can be made in various ways. Here are two common and feasible methods:

Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

  1. Building the Basic Framework: First, prepare a pallet. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet for easy movement. Place a water storage tank recovered from a garbage station on the pallet as the main structural part of the toilet.
  2. Tank Processing: Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line on the top of the water storage tank to form an open-top tank. Invert another open-top water storage tank and stack it on the first one, and then fix them together with self-tapping screws to enhance the structural stability. Next, cut a rectangular opening on the stacked water storage tank as the entrance of the toilet.
  3. Installing Internal Facilities: Make a hole in the floor inside the water storage tank, insert an elbow, connect it to a water pipe, and seal it properly. Then install and fix the toilet. Fix the water pipe at an appropriate position on the wall with clips, install a faucet, fix a pipe cap with screws at the bottom, connect it to a water pipe, and open a drainage outlet. Fix a stainless-steel basin on the pipe cap to make a hand-washing basin. Connect the water inlet pipe of the toilet tank and the shower hose, install the shower bracket, toilet seat, and spray-type showerhead.
  4. Making and Installing the Door: Make a door for the toilet using wooden boards and hinges, and install a door handle for easy opening and closing.

Making a Solar-Powered Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Bucket

Although the specific steps are not detailed, the general idea is to use the water storage bucket as water storage and part of the structural support. Combine it with solar devices, such as installing solar panels, to provide power for lighting, ventilation, and other equipment inside the toilet. A simple frame structure can be built on the water storage bucket for installing facilities like toilets and hand-washing basins. At the same time, use the water storage function of the bucket to provide water for toilet flushing and hand-washing. Through reasonable design of the piping system, achieve water recycling and drainage. This method focuses more on environmental protection and sustainable energy use, making it suitable for use in some outdoor and remote areas.
