How to Keep Container Houses Warm

Admin September 16, 2026

Keeping container houses warm can be achieved through measures such as filling with high-density insulation materials, selecting thermal-break insulation doors and windows, performing moisture-proof treatment, and adjusting insulation plans according to temperature. Details are as follows:

I. Filling with High-Density Insulation Materials

In northern regions, due to low winter temperatures, ordinary container houses have poor insulation performance, resulting in cold interiors and easy condensation. Therefore, when customizing container houses, high-density insulation materials should be filled in walls, roofs, floors, and other parts, such as polyurethane foam and rock wool boards. These materials have excellent insulation properties, effectively reducing heat loss and improving the warmth retention of the house.

II. Selecting Thermal-Break Insulation Doors and Windows

Doors and windows are one of the main channels for heat loss. To improve the insulation performance of container houses, thermal-break insulation doors and windows should be selected. These doors and windows adopt thermal-break insulation technology, effectively blocking the transfer of indoor and outdoor heat and reducing heat loss. At the same time, the sealing performance of doors and windows should also be good to prevent cold air from infiltrating into the interior.

III. Performing Moisture-Proof Treatment

In northern regions, due to the large temperature difference between indoors and outdoors in winter, condensation is prone to occur inside container houses. Condensation not only affects the insulation performance of the house but may also lead to problems such as mold and decay inside the walls. Therefore, when customizing container houses, moisture-proof treatment should be carried out, such as using moisture-proof coatings and setting up moisture-proof layers, to avoid condensation and mold inside the walls.

IV. Adjusting Insulation Plans According to Local Minimum Temperature

There are significant temperature differences in different regions, so when customizing container houses, insulation plans should be adjusted according to the local minimum temperature. For example, in extremely cold regions, measures such as adopting a double-layer insulation structure or increasing the thickness of insulation materials can be taken to improve the insulation performance of the house. At the same time, insulation construction should be completed before the container leaves the factory, and no additional modifications are required after on-site installation to ensure the insulation effect.
