How to Install Wheels on a Portable Toilet

Admin October 02, 2026

The core steps for installing wheels on a portable toilet include preparing tools, removing old wheels (if any), installing new wheels, and adjusting their positions. Specific operations should be selected based on the type of toilet. Here are the detailed instructions:

I. Tool Preparation
Prepare tools such as screwdrivers, Phillips screwdrivers, plumb bobs, 2mm hex wrenches, tweezers, and pencils in advance. If the portable toilet is a small and simple type, you can directly assemble casters at the bottom. In this case, ensure that the caster size matches the bottom structure of the toilet to avoid installation failure or unstable movement due to size mismatch.

II. Removing Old Wheels (if any)

  1. Removing the Door: Take down the entire door of the portable toilet and lay soft pads on the ground to prevent damage to the door surface from磕碰 (bumps).
  2. Disassembling the Wheel Components: Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the wheel frame counterclockwise. Operate slowly to avoid damaging the frame. Then, use tweezers to remove the arc-shaped card from the wheel frame and separate the pull-wheel bearing from the old wheel. If the wheel is rusted due to long-term use, you can apply lubricating oil to assist in disassembly.

III. Installing New Wheels

  1. Assembling the Wheels: Insert the bearing of the new wheel vertically into the center hole, ensuring there is no deviation. Insert the arc-shaped card into the corresponding slot and tighten the fixing screws. If there is a gap between the card and the frame, adjust the bearing or guide screws to ensure the card fits tightly.
  2. Fixing the Wheel Positions: When installing, keep the outer frame of the wheel perpendicular to the slide rail to avoid jamming during movement. For small and simple toilets, you can directly fix the casters at the four corners of the bottom and reinforce them with screws or bolts to ensure even force distribution.

IV. Adjusting the Wheel Positions

  1. Vertical Calibration: Use a plumb bob to detect the verticality of the wheels and mark the correct positions with a pencil. After reinstalling the door, move it to the closed position and check if the wheels are parallel to the ground.
  2. Height Fine-Tuning: If the door is tilted, adjust the wheel heights in sequence. For example, first adjust the left wheel to make the left end of the door parallel, and then adjust the right wheel to complete the overall calibration, ensuring the door is completely parallel to the ground.

Precautions

  • Before installation, read the product manual to confirm the compatibility of the wheel model with the toilet.
  • If problems such as screw slippage or wheel jamming occur during operation, stop immediately and consult professionals to avoid structural damage caused by forced disassembly.
  • After installation, test the movement effect to ensure the wheels rotate flexibly and the toilet is stable overall.
