How to Install Water Pipes for Mobile Toilets

Admin October 07, 2026

The installation of water pipes for mobile toilets requires selecting appropriate solutions based on the type (flush-type, single-unit) and scenario (temporary/fixed). The core steps include planning, construction, connection, sealing, and testing, with specific operations as follows:

I. Installation Process for Flush-Type Mobile Toilets

  1. Preliminary Planning

    • Site and Water Source Location: Confirm the shortest distance between the water supply point and the toilet to avoid insufficient water pressure due to long pipelines. The water supply pipe should be made of pressure-resistant material (such as PPR pipe), buried deeper than the local frost line, and wrapped with insulation material (such as rubber-plastic sponge) to prevent freezing and cracking.
    • Water Pressure Adaptation: Install a pressure-reducing valve at the water inlet to ensure stable water pressure (usually 0.2-0.4 MPa) and prevent equipment damage due to excessive pressure.
  2. Foundation Construction and Pipeline Pre-embedding

    • Simultaneous Embedding: The water supply pipe should be embedded simultaneously with the toilet foundation construction, with a burial depth meeting frost line requirements and a uniform pipeline slope (recommended ≥1%) for easy drainage.
    • Anti-detachment Design: When using threaded connections for water pipe joints, wrap Teflon tape 5-8 times. For quick-connect interfaces, ensure the clips are fully fastened to prevent loosening and leakage.
  3. Equipment Positioning and Pipeline Connection

    • Flush Pipeline: Before connecting to the main pipeline, flush with water to remove impurities and then connect to the equipment water inlet. The diameter of the drainage pipe should be larger than the equipment outlet size (e.g., if the equipment outlet is 50mm, choose a 75mm drainage pipe), and cleanout openings should be installed every 5-10 meters for easy maintenance.
    • Leakage Test: Continuously supply water for 2 hours, checking each joint for water leakage. Secure the pipeline after ensuring no leaks.

II. Key Points for Installing Single-Unit Mobile Toilets

  1. Sewage Pipe Connection

    • Slope Control: The sewage pipe should be connected to the nearest sewer or sewage collection tank with a slope ≥2% to avoid sewage retention. Use a dedicated flange gasket for the interface connection to prevent odor backflow.
    • Material Selection: It is recommended to use PVC-U pipes for sewage pipes, which are corrosion-resistant and cost-effective. For temporary scenarios, flexible corrugated pipes can be used for easy disassembly.
  2. Water Source Connection

    • Pipe Diameter Requirements: The water inlet should use a pipe with a diameter ≥DN20. When testing the flushing function, press the button 3 times continuously to confirm smooth drainage without blockage.
    • Water Temperature Limitation: The water inlet must be connected to the tap water cold water pipeline. Connecting to a hot water pipe is prohibited as it may damage electronic components (such as the sensor flush valve).

III. General Sealing and Testing Specifications

  1. Sealing Treatment

    • Threaded Connection: All threaded interfaces should be wrapped with Teflon tape 5-8 times to ensure the gaps are filled. For quick-connect interfaces, check if the clips are fastened.
    • Flange Sealing: Add a rubber gasket to the flange connection of the sewage pipe and tighten the bolts evenly to avoid local leakage.
  2. Function Testing

    • Water Supply Check: After opening the main water valve, observe all joints for water leakage and test the cleaning water circuit and flushing function.
    • Drainage Test: Pour 5L of water into the toilet bowl, observe the drainage speed and sealing performance, and ensure no odor backflow or water leakage.

IV. Safety Precautions

  1. Construction Protection: Before installation, disconnect the main power and water valves to avoid electric shock or water leakage risks. In winter construction, add antifreeze (such as ethylene glycol) to the water supply pipe and wrap it with an insulation layer.
  2. Work at Heights: If installation at heights is required, wear a safety harness and set up guardrails. Work at heights is prohibited in windy weather with a wind speed ≥5.

Tip: The pipe diameters, slopes, and sealing methods may vary for different types of mobile toilets. It is recommended to have professional personnel operate or strictly refer to the equipment manual to ensure installation quality.
