How to Install Panels for Container Houses
Admin September 16, 2026
The installation of panels for container houses mainly includes the installation of floor panels, wall panels, and roof panels, with different installation steps and requirements for each part.

Floor Panel Installation
- Bottom Frame Installation and Leveling: On a flat ground or workbench, connect the bottom corners of the container to the bottom beams. Use hexagon socket bolts without tightening them for now. After adjusting to ensure that the diagonal difference of the bottom frame is ≤3mm, tighten the bolts.
- Secondary Beam Installation: Install π-shaped secondary beams according to the positioning hole positions on the long beams. Fix them with m5.5×19 self-tapping screws and simultaneously secure the tops of the π-shaped secondary beams to the bottom beams with st4.8×16 round-head self-drilling screws.
- Floor Substrate Laying: Lay the floor substrate (such as magnesium oxide board) along the 6-meter direction. Pre-drill holes at both ends of the substrate and cut the corners according to the chalk line. Mark the centerline of the π-shaped beams, start laying the floor from one end, and align the joints with the centerline of the π-shaped beams. After laying, snap chalk lines (the two chalk lines at the joints deviate 20mm from the centerline respectively), fix the floor with st4.2×38 cross-head flat-tail screws, and space the nails 300-350mm apart.
- Floor Treatment: Sand the entire floor, especially the joints between panels. Apply PVC special floor adhesive, wait for 10-15 minutes, then lay the floor covering, expel the air, and if possible, weld the joints of the floor covering.
Wall Panel Installation
- Reserve Positions for Doors and Windows: When installing wall panels, reserve positions for doors and windows to ensure they can be installed smoothly.
- Installation Sequence: Install the exterior wall panels first, then the interior wall panels (if any). The wall panels should be tightly connected to ensure airtightness.
Roof Panel Installation
- Cover the Roof Panel: After the exterior walls are installed, start installing the roof panels to ensure a tight connection between the roof panels and the wall panels.
- Waterproofing Treatment: When installing wall panels and roof panels, carry out waterproofing treatment, such as applying waterproof adhesive, to prevent rainwater leakage.
