How to Fold Up a Portable Toilet

Admin October 09, 2026

The method of folding up a portable toilet varies depending on its type, as detailed below:

Outdoor Portable Toilets

  • Foldable Toilets: After use, immediate treatment is required. Seal the opening of the built-in special garbage bag or collection bag tightly and close the lid promptly. Properly dispose of the waste, such as by using a portable toilet or waste collection bag, adding a coagulant or deodorant, sealing it, and placing it in a dedicated garbage bag for disposal. Clean and deodorize the equipment by wiping the toilet bowl or inner bucket with a damp cloth and cleaner. Complete drying and inspection to ensure that key parts are completely dry and check for any loose folding joints. Once the equipment is completely dry, fold it according to the design and lock the buckles.
  • Packing Toilets: First, complete the post-use treatment steps mentioned above, including waste disposal and equipment cleaning. Then, fold the toilet and place it in a dedicated storage bag, being careful not to exceed the product's weight limit to avoid damaging the storage bag or affecting the toilet's reuse.
  • Outdoor Simple Toilets: These typically consist of a C-shaped seat ring, support structure, garbage bag, and possibly a nylon cloth or tent for concealment. When folding, first remove and properly dispose of the garbage bag from the seat ring. Next, remove the support structure from the four support points of the seat ring. Then, compress or fold the C-shaped seat ring into a smaller size. For outdoor toilets equipped with nylon cloth or tents for concealment, first remove these coverings from the support structure and fold them according to the original creases or instructions, keeping them neat and compact during the folding process for easy use and storage next time.

Household Commode Chairs (Some Can Be Considered Simple Portable Toilets)

These types of portable toilets support folding for storage. When not in use, they can be easily folded and tucked into a corner or behind a cabinet, taking up no space at all. Their folding method is usually simple, and generally, you can just follow the instructions in the product manual without the need for complex handling steps.
