How to Fold a Portable Toilet
The method for folding a portable toilet is primarily designed for simple outdoor scenarios, with the core being the rapid setup and storage through a modular structure. There is currently no standardized folding solution for industrial products. Below are the specific steps and precautions:

I. Basic Folding Method (Simple Outdoor Portable Toilet)
Material Preparation
- C-shaped Seat Ring: As the core support structure, choose a lightweight yet strong plastic or metal material.
- Four Support Pipes/sticks: Recommended length of 50-80 cm and diameter of 2-3 cm, used to insert into the C-shaped seat ring to form a support frame.
- Tent or Nylon Cloth: Must be waterproof, with size selected based on the number of users (single person recommended size: 1.5m×1.5m).
- Garbage Bag: Choose a large, thick model to ensure airtightness and prevent odor leakage.
Setup Steps
- Fix the Support Frame: Evenly insert the four support pipes into the four holes of the C-shaped seat ring to form a '井' (well) shaped structure, ensuring the bottom is stable.
- Install the Shelter: If using a tent, directly place it over the support frame and secure the stakes; if using nylon cloth, tie the four corners of the cloth to the top of the support frame with ropes to form an enclosed space.
- Place the Garbage Bag: Turn the opening of the garbage bag outward and place it inside the C-shaped seat ring, securing the bag opening with rubber bands or ropes to prevent slippage.
Folding and Storage
- Remove the Garbage Bag: After use, seal the garbage bag and take it away to avoid environmental pollution.
- Disassemble the Support Frame: Remove the four support pipes one by one and separate the C-shaped seat ring from the pipes.
- Store the Cloth: Fold the nylon cloth or tent into small pieces and place it in a storage bag along with the support frame, reducing the volume to 1/5 of the original setup state.
II. Usage Precautions
- Wind Protection: In wind speeds exceeding level 4, use stones or stakes to secure the bottom of the nylon cloth or tent to prevent structural collapse.
- Weight Limit: The maximum weight limit for a simple toilet is approximately 100 kg. Avoid multiple people using it simultaneously or placing heavy objects on it.
- Hygiene Management: It is recommended to replace the garbage bag after each use and regularly wipe the C-shaped seat ring with disinfectant wipes to reduce the risk of bacterial growth.
III. Limitations
The current method is only suitable for temporary outdoor scenarios (such as camping and hiking). Industrial portable toilets (such as container-type and trailer-type) typically use hydraulic or mechanical folding structures, requiring professional equipment for operation, and the folding steps vary by model, with no universal tutorial available. For such information, it is recommended to contact the equipment supplier for an operation manual.
