How to Fold an Outdoor Portable Toilet

Admin October 09, 2026

The folding method for an outdoor portable toilet typically includes steps such as cleaning, disassembling, folding components, and proper storage, as detailed below:

  1. Cleaning and Disposing of Garbage Bags
Before folding, ensure hygiene and safety by first removing the garbage bag fixed to the C-shaped seat ring and properly disposing of waste according to environmental requirements. If the garbage bag contains excrement, seal it and discard it at a designated waste disposal site to avoid environmental pollution. This step is crucial for preventing bacterial transmission and must be carried out strictly.

  2. Disassembling Support Structures
The support structures of outdoor toilets (such as wooden sticks or metal brackets) are usually connected to the seat ring through slots or holes. Remove these components one by one and check for any damage or looseness. If the support structure is of a telescopic design (as in some foldable models), first retract it to its shortest state before complete disassembly. Handle with care during disassembly to avoid component breakage.

  3. Folding the C-shaped Seat Ring
Most C-shaped seat rings are made of elastic plastic or foldable metal materials and are designed with hinges or compression structures. By pressing or rotating the fixing devices on both sides of the seat ring, it can be compressed into a flat state. If the seat ring does not fold naturally, check for any unreleased catches and avoid forcing it to prevent deformation.

  4. Handling Coverings (such as Nylon Cloth or Tents)
If equipped with a covering cloth or tent, first remove it from the support rods and clean any surface stains (such as mud or rainwater). Then, fold it into a compact rectangle or roll according to the original creases of the fabric or the instructions in the manual. Ensure the fabric is completely dry before folding to prevent mildew.

  5. Storage and Inspection
After gathering all components (seat ring, support rods, covering cloth), bundle and secure them with the provided storage bag or rope. Store in a dry and ventilated environment, avoiding direct sunlight or damp conditions that could cause component aging. Before next use, inspect the integrity of components, such as the elasticity of the seat ring and the stability of the support rods, to ensure safety.

Notes: Folding steps may vary among different brands and models. It is recommended to read the product manual carefully or consult the seller before the first operation. If the toilet has been in contact with contaminants, wipe the components with a disinfectant before folding to reduce the risk of cross-infection.
