How to Flush Mobile Toilets

Admin October 05, 2026

The flushing methods for mobile toilets vary depending on their type, mainly divided into storage-type and water-flushing types.

Flushing Method for Storage-Type Mobile Toilets

Storage-type mobile toilets are designed to adapt to scenarios without access to water and electricity, such as outdoor events, temporary construction sites, or remote areas. Their flushing systems do not rely on external water sources or electricity but instead function through active water injection by users. The specific operation process is as follows:

  1. Handwashing and Water Injection Linkage: The toilet is equipped with a small foot pump for handwashing. When the user steps on the foot pump, water flows out from the handwashing basin.
  2. Toilet Flushing Water Injection: When flushing the toilet, the user needs to manually open the water injection port beside the handwashing basin and pour clean water (such as water from a self-carried bucket or pre-stored water) into the designated container. After water injection, the internal mechanical structure (such as gravity or a simple pressure device) drives the water flow into the toilet bowl to complete the flushing.
  3. Waste Collection: The flushed waste passes through a pipe into a sealed black water tank, which is regularly cleaned by dedicated personnel.
    Characteristics: No external water or electricity connection is required, but the user needs to prepare the flushing water themselves, making it suitable for short-term or low-frequency use scenarios.

Flushing Method for Water-Flushing Mobile Toilets

Water-flushing mobile toilets offer an experience closer to that of traditional fixed toilets, achieving automated cleaning through built-in water tanks and flushing devices. The operation process is as follows:

  1. Water Tank Storage: The toilet is equipped with a small water tank on the top or side, pre-storing clean water (with a capacity typically ranging from 50 to 200 liters, depending on the model).
  2. Flush Initiation: After the user finishes using the toilet, the flush can be initiated in three ways:
    • Manual Pressing: Press the button on the panel to trigger the flush valve;
    • Foot Pedal: Step on the pedal at the bottom to open the valve through mechanical linkage;
    • Sensor-Based: An infrared sensor detects the user's departure and automatically initiates the flush (requires electricity).
  3. Water Flow Flushing: The water in the tank quickly flows into the toilet bowl through a high-pressure nozzle or gravity, carrying the waste into the black water tank below.
  4. Black Water Tank Management: The waste collection tank needs to be regularly pumped out for disposal. Some models are equipped with a liquid level alarm to indicate when cleaning is required.
    Characteristics: Strong flushing power and good cleaning effect, but the water tank needs to be regularly refilled, and the black water tank needs to be managed, making it suitable for high-frequency use or scenarios with high hygiene requirements.

Summary: Storage-type mobile toilets rely on manual water injection by users, with simple operation but the need to prepare water sources; water-flushing types achieve automated flushing through built-in water tanks and diverse initiation methods, offering a more convenient experience. When choosing, comprehensive consideration should be given to the water and electricity conditions of the use scenario, usage frequency, and maintenance costs.
