How to Dispose of Sewage from Mobile Toilets

Admin October 05, 2026

There are various ways to dispose of sewage from mobile toilets, depending on their type and design. Here are some common methods:

  1. Conventional Water-Flush Type This type of toilet requires connection to water supply and drainage pipes. It flushes sewage into a septic tank or municipal sewer network through manual or automatic induction flushing. Its principle is similar to that of ordinary toilets, but it is necessary to ensure that the pipes are unobstructed and the septic tank has sufficient capacity. It is suitable for places with stable water supply and drainage conditions, such as city parks and construction sites, with relatively low construction costs and simple maintenance.

  2. Vacuum Sewage Disposal System Using the principle of negative pressure, a vacuum pump quickly sucks sewage and waste into a collection container. When the sewage in the toilet reaches a preset water level, the vacuum pump automatically starts up to achieve efficient sewage disposal. This method uses very little water (only 0.5-1 liters per flush) and can prevent sewage leakage and odor diffusion. It is suitable for high-end mobile toilets or places with high environmental requirements, such as scenic spots and large-scale event venues.

  3. Direct Discharge Type Sewage is directly discharged into the municipal sewer network through a dedicated pipe without intermediate storage. This method is simple to operate and has low costs, but it requires the toilet to be located close to the municipal sewer network and to comply with local drainage standards. It is suitable for mobile toilets for temporary events or fixed locations, such as fairs and exhibitions.

  4. Packing Type It has a built-in packing device. After each use, feces are automatically sealed into blocks, which are regularly cleaned and transported to designated disposal points. This method does not require an external water source and drainage facilities and is suitable for water-scarce areas or places where sewage disposal is not possible, such as deserts and plateaus. However, the packing bags need to be replaced regularly, and it is necessary to ensure no leakage during transportation.

  5. Vehicle-Mounted Type It is equipped with a sewage collection tank. After storing sewage, it is regularly pumped and treated by a sewage suction truck. This method has high flexibility and can be quickly deployed to temporary event venues or scattered areas, such as music festivals and sports events. However, it is necessary to coordinate the operation time of the sewage suction truck and ensure the good sealing performance of the collection tank.

  6. Water-Storage Sewage Disposal System It flushes waste into a water storage tank through water flushing. After the tank is full, it needs to be manually cleaned or the tank replaced. It is suitable for places with sufficient water sources and easy cleaning, such as rural fairs and construction camps. However, regular maintenance is required to prevent sewage overflow or odor generation.

  7. Microbial Degradation Type It uses microbial colonies to decompose feces into harmless gases and water without the need for an external drainage facility. This method is highly environmentally friendly and easy to maintain. It is suitable for remote areas without water supply conditions or ecologically sensitive areas, such as nature reserves and field research stations. However, microbial agents need to be added regularly, and good ventilation should be ensured.
