How to Disassemble a Portable Toilet

Admin September 23, 2026

The disassembly of a portable toilet requires selecting the appropriate method based on its specific type (such as a household portable plastic toilet, a smart toilet, or a large prefabricated portable toilet). Before operation, ensure safety and refer to the actual structure or manufacturer's instructions.

I. Disassembly Steps for a Household Portable Plastic Toilet

  1. Cleaning and Emptying
    • Ensure there is no residual waste in the toilet and empty the deodorizer or coagulant from the waste storage tank.
    • Spray disinfectant on the inner and outer surfaces of the toilet and let it sit for 5 minutes to kill bacteria and eliminate odors, preventing waste overflow or odor diffusion during disassembly.
  2. Releasing the Fixing Device
    • Most plastic toilets are connected to the stand with a rotating buckle (marked with the word 'PUSH').
    • Press the buckle and rotate it counterclockwise by half a turn to separate the toilet body from the stand. If the buckle is tight, gently tap the edge of the buckle to help loosen it.
  3. Removing the Hose
    • Portable plastic toilets are usually equipped with an exhaust pipe or anti-splash hose. Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the plastic retaining ring at the connection of the hose.
    • Pull the hose straight up to avoid breaking the connection by pulling too hard. If the hose is aged and stuck, apply a small amount of lubricant to assist in removal.
  4. Separating the Seat Assembly
    • Flip up the toilet seat and observe the structure at the hinge.
    • Use needle-nose pliers to grip both ends of the metal shaft and slowly pull it out. At the same time, keep the rubber shock absorber pads (to prevent loss or deformation that may affect subsequent installation).

II. Disassembly Steps for a Smart Toilet

  1. Turning Off the Water Supply and Emptying the Water Tank
    • Close the toilet's water inlet valve (usually located in the corner or behind the toilet) and flush out the remaining water in the tank to prevent water leakage during disassembly.
    • Unscrew the connecting nut between the water inlet pipe and the toilet and wrap the connection with a towel to prevent residual water from dripping.
  2. Cutting the Fixing and Moving the Toilet
    • Use a utility knife to cut through the glass glue connecting the bottom of the toilet to the floor (if it is glued in place), ensuring thorough cutting to avoid damaging the floor when moving the toilet.
    • Two people should work together to lift the toilet (smart toilets are heavy) and slowly move it away from its original position, avoiding bumps or scratches on the floor.

III. Disassembly Suggestions for Large Prefabricated Portable Toilets

  • These toilets are usually transported and installed as a whole by the manufacturer, and disassembly requires professional operation.
  • According to the reference information, unloading can be completed within 3 minutes, and the method is applicable to different sizes. However, specific steps (such as module separation and connector removal) should be obtained from the manufacturer for guidance to avoid structural damage caused by self-operation.

Precautions: Turn off the power (for smart toilets) or the water supply before disassembly and wear gloves to prevent scratches. If encountering complex structures or uncertain operations, prioritize contacting the manufacturer or a professional maintenance technician.
