How to Disassemble a Mobile Air Conditioner in the Bathroom
Admin October 09, 2026
The disassembly of a mobile air conditioner in the bathroom should be carried out according to standardized procedures. The specific steps are as follows:

I. Basic Safety Preparations
- Power Disconnection: Before disassembly, unplug the air conditioner to completely cut off the power supply and prevent the risk of electric shock.
- Tool Preparation:
- Basic tools: A Phillips screwdriver (for removing the casing screws).
- Special tools: If disassembling the copper pipes, prepare an 8-10mm adjustable wrench, sealing tape, an empty container (for collecting refrigerant), and optional specialized plugs.
II. Casing and Filter Removal
- Casing Removal:
- Observe the air conditioner casing and locate the fixing screws on the sides, back, or bottom. Use a screwdriver to unscrew them one by one and store them properly.
- Gently pull the casing apart. If there are snap-fit connections, slowly掰动 (掰动 can be translated as 'pry' or 'flex' in this context, but 'gently separate' is more natural in English) them to avoid breakage. Some models have casings divided into upper and lower parts, which need to be removed layer by layer.
- Filter Cleaning:
- The filter is usually located at the air intake. Press the edge snaps or loosen the fixing device and then pull it out.
- Rinse the filter with clean water to remove dust, then dry it. It can be reinstalled for later use.
III. Internal Component Removal
- Connection Wire Handling:
- If you need to repair internal components such as the fan, first unplug the connection wire plugs.
- Mark the Wires: Use sticky notes or take photos to record the plug positions to avoid incorrect connections during reinstallation.
- Fan and Other Component Removal:
- Unscrew the screws fixing the fan and carefully remove the component, avoiding collisions with other elements.
IV. Copper Pipe Removal (Requires Professional Operation)
- Refrigerant Recovery:
- Enter the 'Refrigerant Recovery Mode' through the remote control or control panel (some models require operating combination keys according to the instructions) to drain the refrigerant in the system to the outdoor unit.
- Copper Pipe Separation:
- Remove the side cover of the outdoor unit (2-3 Phillips screws) to expose the copper pipe connectors.
- Use an adjustable wrench to grip the hexagonal part of the nut and rotate it counterclockwise (the copper pipes and valves have reverse threads; the left copper pipe needs to be rotated clockwise).
- When disassembling, support the bent part of the copper pipe to prevent port deformation.
- Sealing Treatment:
- Immediately wrap 3-5 turns of sealing tape around both ends of the copper pipe after separation, or use specialized plugs for sealing.
- Maintain the natural arc of the copper pipe during handling and avoid bundling and pressing the crease parts; store in a dry and light-proof environment to prevent oxidation.
- Reuse Inspection:
- If the copper pipes need to be reused, check whether the O-ring seals at the ports are cracked (more than 90% of leaks originate from here).
Precautions:
- Handle the disassembly process gently to avoid damaging precision components such as circuit boards.
- If you are not familiar with the operation or have no repair experience, it is recommended to contact professional personnel for handling to prevent equipment damage or safety hazards due to improper operation.
