How to Decorate a Container House

Admin September 16, 2026

The decoration of container houses can achieve a diverse and ordinary house-like texture, meeting the needs of different scenarios, through reasonable space planning, selection of appropriate materials and styles, improvement of water and electricity facilities, and addition of personalized decorations.

Space Planning and Functional Zoning

  • Multi-functional Design in Small Spaces: For smaller container houses, such as those with an area of 15 square meters, an integrated design of the living room, kitchen, and bedroom can be adopted. The living room can be set up as a multi-functional area, including reading, leisure, and dining functions, equipped with simple and foldable tables and chairs to adjust the space ratio according to needs. The bedroom can use a custom-made foldable bed, which can be fully extended into a double bed or semi-folded to serve as a sofa, enhancing space flexibility.
  • Reasonable Zoning: Divide different functional areas according to usage needs. For example, set up independent kitchens and bathrooms. A linear kitchen design is suitable for small spaces, meeting daily cooking needs while saving space. The bathroom should have rounded edges to match the overall tone of the storage cabinets, making the effect more aesthetically pleasing and rounded.

Material and Style Selection

  • Wall and Floor Materials: Walls can be covered with wall panels, and customers can choose different wall materials, such as wooden veneer to decorate the inside of the container door, unifying the indoor color tone and creating a natural and warm atmosphere. Floor styles can also be diversely selected, such as wooden floors for high-end homestays.
  • Decoration Styles: Various styles such as minimalist, Japanese, and ultra-minimalist can be chosen according to personal preferences. The minimalist style is suitable for scenarios like construction site dormitories; the Japanese style, dominated by white and gray with natural wood tones, creates a clean, tidy, and textured atmosphere; the ultra-minimalist style emphasizes clean lines and a warm ambiance, with large areas of glass making the interior brighter.

Improvement of Water and Electricity Facilities

  • Complete Water and Electricity Equipment: Ensure that the container house has complete water and electricity equipment to meet daily water and electricity needs. Reserve positions for air conditioners and hot water equipment for easy subsequent installation and use.
  • Use of Energy-saving Equipment: For example, install a solar photovoltaic power generation system to achieve self-sufficiency in electricity, meeting the needs of appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines, which is both energy-saving and cost-effective.

Addition of Personalized Decorations

  • Design of Shapes and Storage: The living room background wall can be designed with shapes, combining closed and open storage to increase visual layering; rounded edges can be used to increase the roundness of the space. Create open storage spaces for easy placement of items.
  • Decoration with Ornaments: Place wood and decorations in open areas as focal points; add greenery in the kitchen; choose appropriate lighting fixtures according to the overall style, such as minimalist light strips, to enhance the house's refinement and warmth.
