How to Construct Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The construction of container houses mainly includes steps such as foundation construction, main structure construction, supporting facility construction, and decoration.

1、Foundation Construction:

  • Foundation construction is the first step in building a container house, and it is essential to ensure the stability and firmness of the foundation. Concrete foundations are typically used, poured according to geological conditions and design requirements.
  • Before foundation construction, the site must be leveled, and drainage pipes should be pre-buried to avoid water accumulation issues later. For container houses used outdoors for long periods, wind and earthquake resistance designs should also be considered, such as constructing concrete piers at the bottom.

2、Main Structure Construction:

  • The main structure of a container house consists of container modules prefabricated in factories, including processes such as steel cutting, processing, structural assembly, welding, and corrosion protection.
  • On-site construction mainly involves assembling the prefabricated container modules, combining multiple modules into a complete building through steps such as hoisting into place and structural connections.
  • The focus of construction is on controlling the verticality of stacked containers and ensuring the earthquake resistance and loosening prevention of node connections to ensure the safety and stability of the structure.

3、Supporting Facility Construction:

  • Supporting facilities include water and electricity installation, ventilation, lighting, doors, and windows. Water and electricity installation should be carried out according to design drawings, including wiring, installing pipes and equipment, to ensure the convenience and safety of water and electricity use.
  • Ventilation and lighting designs should consider the special structure of container houses, using appropriate vents and lighting windows to improve indoor environmental comfort.
  • Door and window construction should use high-quality doors and windows to ensure flexible opening, good sealing, and improved thermal insulation performance of the house.

4、Decoration:

  • Decoration includes the finishing of walls, floors, and ceilings, as well as the arrangement of indoor furniture and equipment. Decorative materials should be environmentally friendly, fire-resistant, and easy to clean, ensuring the health and safety of the indoor environment.
  • The decoration style can be customized according to customer needs to enhance the living comfort and aesthetics of the container house.
