How to Connect Water and Electricity for Mobile Toilets

Admin October 02, 2026

Mobile toilets can be used after connecting water and electricity, with strict adherence to safety standards for electrical connections and appropriate methods for water connections based on the toilet type.

Electrical Connection Procedures and Safety Precautions

  1. Complete Electrical Qualifications Required
Electrical connection work must be carried out by a unit or individual with formal electrical construction qualifications. Operators must hold an electrician's certificate to ensure compliance with national electrical safety standards. Unqualified personnel are strictly prohibited from connecting wires privately to avoid electric shock or fire accidents caused by improper operation.

  2. Matching Wires and Equipment
Check whether the specifications of the power cord that comes with the mobile toilet match the equipment's power rating. If temporary wires are needed, choose waterproof and sun-resistant cables. For wires longer than 10 meters, install a residual current device to prevent voltage instability or electric shock risks due to long wire lengths.

  3. Grounding Device Essential
All mobile toilets must be reliably grounded, with the grounding resistance controlled within 4Ω. Grounding effectively conducts away leakage current, reducing the risk of electric shock, and is a key measure for ensuring electrical safety.

  4. Standardized Installation of Power Boxes
The distribution box should be installed in a dry and ventilated location, equipped with rainproof facilities to prevent water ingress and short circuits. The internal circuit breaker should match the equipment's power rating to avoid overloading. Unauthorized connections or the use of non-standard sockets are strictly prohibited to prevent line overheating and fire hazards.

  5. Regular Inspections During Rental Period
Check daily for loose wire connections or damaged cables, with a focus on checking for electric leakage after rain. If wire aging, damaged insulation, or equipment abnormalities are found, stop using immediately and contact a professional for repairs.

Water Connection Instructions

The water connection methods for mobile toilets vary by type:

  • Water Tank Toilets: Connect to an external water source (such as a tap water pipe or water storage tank) via a water pipe, ensuring the water tank's inlet valve is open and automatically stops when full.
  • Recirculating Water Toilets: Some models are equipped with built-in water tanks and require regular manual water refilling or connection to a water source for replenishment. Disinfectant should be added according to the instructions to maintain water cleanliness.
  • Waterless Flush Toilets: No water connection is required, but the excreta container must be regularly cleaned, suitable for scenarios without a water source.

Tip: Before connecting water, confirm that the water pressure meets the toilet's requirements to avoid pipe rupture due to excessive pressure. If using a water storage tank, ensure the tank is clean and regularly replace the water source to prevent bacterial growth.
