How to Clean Mobile Toilets
Admin September 23, 2026
The cleaning of mobile toilets should be carried out according to the specific scenario, mainly divided into three categories: the eight-step cleaning method, professional cleaning process, and daily cleaning steps. The specific operations are as follows:

I. Eight-Step Cleaning Method (Suitable for Basic Maintenance)
- Dust Removal: Use a broom to remove dust and cobwebs from the top, walls, window screens, and lighting fixtures to avoid dust pollution.
- Wiping: Use a cloth to clean surfaces such as doors, windows, handwashing basins, partition boards, window sills, walls, and switches. For stubborn stains, neutral cleaning agents can be used.
- Scrubbing: For alkaline scale in squat toilets, sit toilets, and urinals, use a special brush with an acidic cleaning agent (such as diluted hydrochloric acid) for scrubbing. Remember to wear protective gloves.
- Garbage Removal: Timely sweep garbage inside and outside the toilet, replace the plastic bags in the garbage baskets, and avoid the generation of odors.
- Mopping: Use a mop to remove standing water on the floor, keep the floor dry, and prevent the risk of slipping.
- Facility Inspection: Check whether faucets, sensing devices, clothes hooks, etc., are intact. Report for repair immediately if any damage is found.
- Disinfection: Spray chlorine-containing disinfectants (effective chlorine 500-1000mg/L) on high-frequency contact areas such as door and window handles, faucets, and switches at least three times a day, and turn on the deodorization equipment.
- Tool Storage: Store cleaning supplies such as brooms and cloths in the tool room to ensure no clutter is accumulated.
II. Professional Cleaning Process (Suitable for Deep Cleaning)
- Pre-treatment: Operators wear protective equipment (waterproof aprons, non-slip rubber boots, nitrile gloves, goggles), set up warning signs to isolate the area; check the liquid level indicator, the connection status of the sewage discharge valve, and ground leakage.
- Emptying Waste: Connect a vacuum sewage suction truck to the sewage outlet, slowly extract the liquid and solid residues from the sewage storage tank, and then inject clean water and suction again to ensure no residue remains.
- High-Pressure Washing: Use a 120-180bar high-pressure cleaning machine to spray the inner walls, toilets, floors, and dead corners of the toilet, and cooperate with a long-handled brush and cleaning agent to scrub stubborn stains.
- Deep Disinfection: Spray or wipe chlorine-containing or hydrogen peroxide-based disinfectants (effective chlorine 500-1000mg/L) to cover all contact surfaces (such as door handles and flush buttons), maintain a contact time of 10-15 minutes, and then rinse.
- Air Treatment: Use atomized deodorants to neutralize odors and avoid covering up residual odors with fragrances.
- Equipment Maintenance: Check components such as toilet seals, exhaust fans, and door lock hinges. Record and report any damage in a timely manner; reserve clean water in the sewage storage tank and add biodegradable agents.
- Waste Disposal: Transport the waste and cleaning wastewater to designated sewage treatment facilities or septic tanks. It is strictly prohibited to dump them into storm drains.
- Record Management: Fill in record forms including cleaning time, disinfectant dosage, equipment status, and wastewater flow direction.
III. Daily Cleaning Steps (Suitable for High-Frequency Use Scenarios)
- Surface Cleaning: Use a cleaning agent and a wet cloth to wipe contact areas such as walls, floors, toilet seats, and handwashing basins. For stubborn stains, use a soft-bristled brush for scrubbing.
- Key Disinfection: Spray or wipe disinfectants on high-frequency contact areas such as toilets, handwashing basins, and door handles.
- Ventilation and Deodorization: Turn on ventilation equipment or use air fresheners to improve the odor.
- Supply Replenishment: Timely replenish consumables such as toilet paper and hand soap.
- Facility Inspection: Check whether facilities such as lighting, ventilation, and water supply and drainage are normal. Repair any faults in a timely manner.
- External Cleaning: Clean the outer shell, doors, windows, and bottom areas of the toilet to prevent the accumulation of stains.
- Record Retention: Record the cleaning time, content, and equipment status for traceability management.
Precautions: Different models of mobile toilets may have specific cleaning requirements. It is recommended to refer to the equipment manual or consult the supplier before operation.
