How to Clean Mobile Toilets at Construction Sites

Admin September 28, 2026

Cleaning mobile toilets at construction sites requires a combination of daily cleaning, regular maintenance, efficient and quick cleaning, and special handling. The specific methods are as follows:

I. Daily Cleaning Basic maintenance should be carried out after daily use:

  1. External Cleaning: Wipe the dust off the outer shell with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, scrub with a neutral detergent and then rinse thoroughly. Avoid using strong corrosive solvents.
  2. Internal Floor Treatment: After sweeping up the garbage, use a mop with detergent to focus on cleaning the corners and easily dirty areas to prevent stain penetration.
  3. Toilet Bowl Cleaning: Pour in a special detergent and scrub the edges, drain holes, and other details with a stiff brush to remove urine scale and fecal residues and prevent blockages.
  4. Sink Maintenance: Wipe the countertop and faucet with a detergent to remove water stains and prevent oxidation of metal parts.

II. Regular Maintenance Conduct in-depth inspections weekly or according to the frequency of use:

  1. Equipment Inspection: Test whether the door locks, ventilation fans, and lighting equipment are functioning properly. Replace damaged parts promptly to ensure the ventilation system operates to reduce odors.
  2. Consumable Replenishment: Add toilet paper, hand soap, etc. on time to avoid shortages that affect use.
  3. Excrement Disposal: Extract the excrement according to sanitation regulations to prevent overflow. Check if the sewage pipes are blocked and use a high-pressure water jet to unclog them if necessary.

III. Efficient and Quick Cleaning

  1. Pretreatment Isolation Method: Lay biodegradable decomposition pads in the toilet bowl or add microbial agents to accelerate the decomposition of organic matter into water and carbon dioxide, reducing solid residues. Install anti-odor check valves to prevent gas backflow.
  2. Process Optimization: Adopt the "dry first, then wet" method. First, remove solid waste with a scraper or vacuum cleaner. Then, rinse the inner walls with hot water above 60°C combined with a neutral detergent. Finally, disinfect for more than 30 minutes in a closed environment with a UV lamp or ozone generator to kill pathogens.
  3. Application of Professional Tools: Use an 80-120 bar high-pressure washing gun with a rotating nozzle to rinse the toilet bowl in a circular pattern. For urine scale buildup, select a detergent containing sulfamic acid and let it sit for 3-5 minutes to decompose. Use an ultra-fine fiber mop with an anti-mold coating to quickly absorb standing water.
  4. Technical Assistance Means: A portable electric suction pump can extract waste on the spot. Microcapsule deodorants can continuously neutralize ammonia and hydrogen sulfide for up to 72 hours.

IV. Special Situation Handling During periods of high incidence of infectious diseases or when there are special sanitation requirements, spray and wipe the inside and outside of the toilet with a chlorine-containing disinfectant. In daily life, place deodorants and fresheners and keep the windows open for ventilation to reduce odors.

V. Intelligent and Environmentally Friendly Trends Some mobile toilets are equipped with liquid level sensors and IoT modules, which can monitor the waste capacity in real-time and automatically assign cleaning work orders. Biological enzyme preparations replace strong acid and alkali chemicals to reduce environmental pollution.
