How to Build Staircases for Container Houses
The construction of staircases for container houses requires selecting appropriate methods based on the type. Common types include external staircases for container houses, staircases for packing-box units, and spiral staircases for box-type structures. The key construction points are as follows:

External Staircases for Container Houses
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials such as steel bars, cement, crushed stones, mortar, stair treads, and scaffolding.
- Construction Steps:
- Planning and Design: Determine the staircase location and length based on the height and structural characteristics of the container house, and select the appropriate type and form.
- Construction Preparation: Clear the site and locate and mark the staircase position.
- Foundation Construction: Excavate foundation pits, embed steel bars, and pour concrete to ensure a stable foundation with load-bearing capacity.
- Stair Beam Installation: Install stair beams according to design requirements to ensure stability and load-bearing capacity.
- Tread Installation: Install stair treads according to design requirements to ensure firmness and stability.
- Handrail Installation: Install stair handrails according to design requirements to ensure stability and comfort.
- Precautions: Strictly follow design requirements during construction to ensure staircase stability and safety; pay attention to personnel safety during construction and strengthen protection; keep the site clean and promptly clear away garbage and debris; coordinate with other construction operations to avoid interference; conduct inspections upon completion to ensure construction quality meets standards and regulations.
Staircases for Packing-Box Units
The design requirements for staircases in packing-box units are determined based on the specific packing-box design. They can be designed as double-run staircases with two ascents and one descent or one ascent and two descents, or as single-run staircases with one ascent and one descent. - Single-Run Staircase: After wrapping the treads with channel steel, the width is 1.3m, the platform width is 1.2m, and the height is 1.45m. - Double-Run Staircase: The small tread width is 1.3m, the large staircase tread width is 2.85m, the turning platform width is 2m, and the height is 1.6m.
Spiral Staircases for Box-Type Structures
- Arc Plate Processing: Draw the inner arc radius of the spiral staircase on an iron plate, calculate the rotation angle, and evenly distribute auxiliary tooling plates welded to the inner arc radius. The height must reach the staircase height and be firm. The arc plates for the spiral staircase are processed using a plate rolling machine, and the slope value must be calculated.
- Install Inner Arc Plate: Use the pre-cut upper flange arc as a mold to install the first inner arc plate, assisted by a chain block. After tightening against the auxiliary tooling plate and setting the height, add welding points for firmness.
- Install Lower Bottom Plate: Install the lower bottom plate first, cut it into small pieces according to the arc radius, distribute the small pieces evenly at the bottom of the inner arc plate, and fix them with spot welding. Adjust the angle to 90 degrees, align the lower edge of the lower bottom plate with the adjacent lower bottom plate where the triangular plate is placed, and spot weld to create the arc.
- Install Outer Arc Plate: Use a plate with the same width as the lower bottom plate to install the outer arc plate on the inner arc. Position the tooling plate on the lower surface of the lower bottom plate, use a chain block to tighten it against the lower bottom plate and inner lining plate, draw tread lines according to the drawings, evenly divide the treads, install the outer box-type inner arc plate after installing the treads, first draw lines on the inner arc plate, place positioning plates on the lines, attach them to the treads, tighten them with a chain block, and fix them with spot welding. The method for the outer lower bottom plate and inner arc lower bottom plate is the same, and the outer arc plate is installed according to the method for the inner outer arc plate.
- Install Upper Cover Plate: After the staircase is basically formed, install the inner and outer upper cover plates. The upper cover plates are not cut into small pieces but placed as a whole. Use gas cutting to remove a small portion to allow the upper cover to fit into the box-type structure, then spot weld, starting with the inner arc aligned with the inside.
