How to Build a Foundation for a Container House
The construction of a foundation for a container house requires selecting an appropriate plan based on the type of house and site conditions. Common types include leveling the ground, strip/pile foundations, and concrete foundations. Details are as follows:

Leveling the ground is suitable for foldable container houses and fixed residential container houses. These types of houses have relatively low foundation requirements, and they can be placed directly for use after leveling the ground. If conditions permit, a cement floor can be poured and drainage ditches can be set up to improve living comfort. For example, temporary accommodation and office buildings commonly used on construction sites often adopt this type of foundation, which is simple to construct and has a low cost.
Strip or pile foundations are suitable for packing container houses. These types of houses have simple foundation requirements, and strip or pile designs can be selected according to the site conditions, or they can even be placed directly on the ground. Strip foundations meet the load-bearing requirements of the house through local reinforcement, while pile foundations enhance stability by dispersing pressure, suitable for sites with good geological conditions or temporary use scenarios.
Concrete foundations are suitable for residential portable panel houses and scenarios with high stability requirements. This type of foundation requires pouring a certain area of concrete and fixing the house to the foundation with expansion screws. Concrete foundations can effectively disperse the weight of the house and prevent settlement, but the construction cost is relatively high, and the foundation cannot be reused during demolition. For example, long-term office buildings on construction sites or areas requiring wind and earthquake resistance often adopt this type of design.
Customized foundation plans are required for special scenarios. For example, complex terrains such as mountains or coastlines require designing foundations in combination with terrain characteristics to ensure the stability of the house; container houses used by emergency support agencies need to meet the requirements for rapid deployment and can adopt foundation-free rapid landing technology; commercial operation scenarios need to balance cost and mobility and choose a flat-packed container house structure for easy transportation.
Construction points: The foundation size must comply with the drawing requirements, with an axis deviation not exceeding ±25mm and a wall height deviation not exceeding 10mm; materials must be handled gently during transportation to avoid damaging the steel structure; welding quality must be strictly inspected to ensure firm component connections; and hidden works such as water and electricity installation and waterproofing must be controlled to avoid rework later.
