How Long Does It Take for a Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

The delivery time for a custom-made standard container house typically ranges from 30 to 45 days from contract signing to delivery (for factory prefabrication), with on-site hoisting and assembly taking approximately 3 to 7 days (depending on scale and site conditions). The overall cycle is roughly 33 to 52 days, and may be extended under special circumstances.

Normal Cycle Composition

  • Design Planning: Usually takes 3 to 7 days, during which design planning is carried out based on customer needs and usage scenarios.
  • Detailing and Ordering: Approximately one week is required to refine the design plan, clarify all details, and place an order with the factory for production.
  • Factory Prefabrication: This is a time-consuming step, taking about 20 to 30 days to complete the prefabrication of the container house in the factory.
  • Transportation: Transportation time varies depending on distance, generally ranging from 1 to 5 days. The farther the distance, the longer the transportation time.
  • On-site Installation: Approximately 3 to 7 days are needed to transport the prefabricated container house to the site for hoisting and assembly. The larger the scale and the more complex the site conditions, the longer the installation time may be.

Impact of Special Circumstances

  • Irregular Shapes: If the container house is designed with an irregular shape, production difficulty increases, and the factory prefabrication time will be extended accordingly, leading to a longer overall delivery cycle.
  • Special Approvals: Some container houses for special purposes may require special approvals, and the approval process may take some time, affecting delivery progress.
  • Peak Season Production Scheduling: During peak production seasons, factories may have many orders, and production scheduling may be affected, leading to extended production times and, consequently, longer delivery cycles. Therefore, it is advisable to allow for some leeway and clarify delivery milestones with the manufacturer in the contract.
