Images of Prefabricated Pipe Piles for House Foundations

Admin September 18, 2026

Currently, it is not possible to directly provide images of prefabricated pipe piles for house foundations, but their structure and construction scenarios can be described in text to help understand their form and function.

Structural Characteristics of Prefabricated Pipe Piles

Prefabricated pipe piles are typically hollow cylindrical prefabricated concrete members. Their core structural feature is the application of prestress through the pre-tensioning method, and they are made using high-strength concrete. The pre-tensioning process involves applying tension to the steel reinforcement before pouring the concrete. After the concrete hardens, the tension is released, causing the steel to contract and generate permanent compressive stress in the concrete, thereby enhancing the pile's crack resistance and load-bearing capacity. The use of high-strength concrete further improves the pile's compressive strength and durability, enabling it to withstand significant vertical and horizontal loads. The hollow structure of the pile not only reduces its self-weight, facilitating transportation and construction, but also allows for the filling of concrete or sand and gravel inside, further enhancing the pile's stiffness and stability.

Pile Driving Process

Pile driving is a critical step in the construction of prefabricated pipe piles, requiring strict control over verticality and driving force. During construction, the pile is vertically hoisted to the predetermined position, and its verticality is corrected using a total station or plumb line to ensure that the pile is perpendicular to the ground, preventing reduced load-bearing capacity or construction accidents due to tilting. After correction, the pile is gradually driven using light tapping or pressing to avoid damage to the pile or excessive disturbance to the surrounding soil due to excessive impact force. During pile driving, the pile's verticality and depth of penetration are continuously monitored to ensure that the pile reaches the designed elevation and load-bearing requirements.

Pile Connection (Welding Method) Process

When a single prefabricated pipe pile is not long enough, pile connection techniques are used to extend its length. The welding method is one of the commonly used pile connection methods, with the core requirement being continuous and full welds to ensure the strength and tightness of the connection. During pile connection, the end plates of the upper and lower piles are first aligned, and any oil, rust, or other impurities on the end plate surfaces are removed. Then, the seam is gradually welded using a symmetrical welding approach. During welding, the welding current and speed are controlled to prevent defects such as pores or slag inclusions in the welds. After welding is completed, the welds undergo visual inspection and non-destructive testing to ensure that the pile connection quality meets the specified requirements.
