Design Drawings of House Container Villas
Admin September 17, 2026
Here are the design highlights of several different styles of house container villas:

Container Villa in Melbourne:
- Spatial Layout: Adopts a staggered stacking design, changing the direct stacking of two floors into three staggered 'containers', increasing living space and leisure areas. The gaps between two 'containers' are transformed into aisles, dividing the space without a sense of oppression. The dining and kitchen areas, as well as the rest areas, are open-plan with no boundaries in layout.
- Lighting Design: High-strength glass walls are installed at the front and back of the 'containers', allowing sunlight to penetrate throughout the interior. Circular holes are opened in the roof to allow trees to grow, adding vitality. The white staircase is made of perforated metal plate material, allowing sunlight to pass through.
- Interior Decoration: Uses white as the base color, with dark wooden strips creating curved walls. There are freely openable walls to make the space flexible. A work area is set up near the window with a full-view glass window. The bedroom on the second floor has an excellent view, with the beautiful scenery outside serving as decoration.
Container Bungalow in San Jose, Costa Rica:
- Basic Structure: Two containers are spliced together and placed on piles without touching the ground, providing moisture-proofing and insulation.
- Lighting and Insulation: Large-scale floor-to-ceiling windows and roof skylights ensure good lighting. The glass used is triple-glazed windows, which have good insulation effects, keeping the house warm in winter and cool in summer. The walls, roof, and floor, except for the glass parts, are well-insulated according to the local climate.
- Energy Supply: A solar photovoltaic power generation system is installed on the roof, allowing for self-sufficiency in electricity.
Container Villa by Tato Architects in Japan:
- Circulation Design: Entering diagonally, the circulation is smooth. The shoe and hat cabinet is deep and wide with a large capacity. To the right is the bathroom, and the master bedroom is on the first floor, considering earthquake evacuation convenience. The staircase is hidden inside the laundry cabinet, with a reasonable functional circulation, making it convenient to handle dirty clothes. The kitchen and dining area on the second floor are together, facilitating food service.
Casa Container Residence in Brazil:
- Exterior Renovation: Consists of two adjacent 12-meter-long containers, covered with white Dekton corrugated metal structures on the exterior. The material is hard, with excellent UV resistance and heat resistance.
- Lighting and Shading: Large glass walls and doorways are added to allow natural light to enter. Chinese bamboos are planted in the external courtyard. The windows on the sunny side have a cross-style design, with slender white Dekton blinds covering the glass walls to avoid direct sunlight.
- Interior Space: Both the interior and exterior are white, enhancing the sense of space and comfort. The two containers are respectively transformed into a living room and dining area, and a bedroom space with a private bathroom.
