Hotan Mobile Toilets

Admin October 06, 2026

Mobile toilets in Hotan are convenient facilities established to address the shortage of urban public amenities, primarily distributed in tourist attractions, commercial areas, transportation hubs, and other densely populated areas, featuring eco-friendly designs and diverse service functions.

I. Distribution and Quantity

According to data from the Hotan Urban Management Bureau in 2023, there are 45 mobile public toilets in the urban area. Among them, 20 are located around tourist attractions, 15 in commercial areas, and the remaining 10 are distributed along main roads and near communities. This layout aims to cover densely populated areas and meet the toilet needs of residents and tourists. Each toilet serves approximately 200-300 people per day on average, with the number reaching over 500 during peak periods such as holidays, highlighting their importance as urban infrastructure.

II. Functions and Design

Mobile public toilets are designed with environmental protection as the core concept, equipped with water-saving flushing systems to reduce resource consumption by optimizing water usage; solar power systems reduce reliance on the traditional power grid, enabling green operation. Some toilets also feature barrier-free facilities, including ramps, handrails, and dedicated toilet stalls, prioritized for use by the elderly, pregnant women, and people with disabilities, reflecting humanistic care. Operating hours are generally from 6:00 to 22:00, with some 24-hour toilets locked at night and requiring contact with an administrator (phone number posted on the exterior wall) for access.

III. Usage Rules and Fees

Some mobile public toilets require a 1 yuan usage fee (only supporting WeChat/Alipay scanning), with a single-use time limit of 15 minutes and automatic reminders for overdue usage. Toilet paper must be self-provided, but some locations offer paid tissue dispensers (2 yuan per pack). Users can quickly locate toilets by searching for "mobile public toilets" on Gaode or Baidu Maps or follow the official Hotan public account "Hotan Convenience Services" to check toilet availability in real-time.

IV. Management and Maintenance

If facility damage is detected, report it by calling the 12319 urban management hotline. To maintain public hygiene, smoking and littering are prohibited inside the toilets, with violators potentially facing fines of 50-200 yuan (Article 12 of the Hotan Urban Appearance Management Regulations). In emergencies, users can press and hold the red alarm button inside the toilet stall to contact management personnel.

V. Rental Services

In addition to fixed locations, Hotan also offers mobile toilet rental services, including mobile restrooms, washrooms, and public toilet rentals, suitable for temporary scenarios such as marathons, concerts, music festivals, and construction sites, meeting diverse needs.
