Hotan Mobile Public Toilets

Admin October 09, 2026

Hotan mobile public toilets are convenient facilities established to address the shortage of urban public amenities. They are primarily located in densely populated areas such as scenic spots, commercial districts, and transportation hubs, featuring both eco-friendly designs and convenient services.

I. Distribution and Quantity

According to data from the Hotan City Urban Management Bureau in 2023, there are 45 mobile public toilets in the urban area. Among them, 20 are located around scenic spots, 15 in commercial districts, and the remaining 10 are distributed along main roads and near communities. This layout aims to cover densely populated areas and meet the toilet needs of residents and tourists. Each toilet serves approximately 200-300 people per day on average, with the number exceeding 500 during peak periods such as holidays, highlighting their importance as urban infrastructure.

II. Eco-Friendly Design and Facility Configuration

Most mobile public toilets adopt eco-friendly designs, equipped with water-saving flushing systems and solar power supply units to reduce water consumption and energy dependence. Some toilets also feature barrier-free facilities, including dedicated access paths, handrails, and low-level washbasins, to facilitate use by the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with disabilities. Operating hours are generally from 6:00 to 22:00, with some toilets open 24 hours a day. Those open 24 hours are locked at night and can only be accessed by contacting the administrator (phone number posted on the toilet exterior).

III. Usage Rules and Fees

Some mobile public toilets require a payment of 1 yuan via QR code scanning or coin insertion (only WeChat and Alipay QR code scanning are supported), with a single-use time limit of 15 minutes, after which the system will automatically remind the user. Toilet paper must be self-provided, although some locations offer paid tissue dispensers (2 yuan per pack). If facilities are found to be damaged, repairs can be requested by calling the 12319 urban management hotline. Smoking and littering are prohibited, with violators potentially facing fines ranging from 50 to 200 yuan (Article 12 of the Hotan City Appearance Management Regulations). Barrier-free toilets are prioritized for specific groups, and keys can be obtained from nearby security personnel. In emergencies (such as a door lock malfunction), pressing and holding the red alarm button inside will trigger a response within 5 minutes.

IV. Rental Services and Scenario Applications

In addition to fixed locations, Hotan City also offers mobile toilet rental services suitable for temporary scenarios such as marathons, concerts, music festivals, and construction sites. Rental services can flexibly configure the number and type of toilets based on the scale and needs of the event, further expanding the application scope of mobile public toilets and enhancing the flexibility of urban public services.
