Hongkou District has made progress and has unique features in environmental protection mobile toilets, including the completion of some sanitation public toilet renovations, the use of 'high-tech' to enhance the toilet experience, a focus on practicality and public opinion in residential area public toilet renovations, and the implementation of mobile toilet projects.
Completion of Some Sanitation Public Toilet Renovations: Since the beginning of this year, Hongkou District has completed the upgrading and renovation of eight sanitation public toilets, which are located at multiple sites including 588 Dongdaming Road (Yidishui Public Toilet), 258 Zhapu Road, and 50 Kunming Road. During the renovation process, the design concept of 'one toilet, one landscape' was implemented, with each public toilet designed in combination with the characteristics of its surrounding environment, making it a unique visual landmark. This not only enhances the functionality of the public toilets but also improves the urban landscape.
Use of 'High-Tech' to Enhance the Toilet Experience: Taking Yidishui Public Toilet as an example, after renovation, a third toilet was added, equipped with facilities such as high and low washbasins, baby care stations, and children's toilets, greatly facilitating the use of special groups such as the elderly and children. At the same time, touch-controlled automatic door systems were installed, wash-and-dry integrated handwashing facilities were introduced in the handwashing area, barrier-free ramps and handrails were added, and alarm devices were installed in each toilet cubicle. In addition, an outdoor smart screen displays the usage time of the toilet cubicles in real-time, allowing users to stay informed about the toilet situation promptly, enhancing the convenience and safety of using the toilets.
Focus on Practicality and Public Opinion in Residential Area Public Toilet Renovations: For public toilets near residential buildings, such as the one at 303 Shanyin Road Lane, during the pre-renovation phase, the construction unit fully considered the opinions of the local sub-district offices and nearby residents, reasonably adjusted the entrance passage of the public toilet, and set up signage. Subsequently, in conjunction with community micro-renovations, the guidance signage will be further updated and optimized to ensure that the public toilet renovations are both practical and meet the needs of residents.
Implementation of Mobile Toilet Projects: The Hongkou District Environmental Sanitation Management Center has launched a mobile toilet project in the passage at 345 Guangyue Road Lane. The winning supplier is Shanghai Huahaoyuanyi Biotechnology Co., Ltd., with a winning bid amount of 196,606.44 yuan. The main contract is for a batch of mobile toilet facilities and equipment, providing strong support for the construction of environmental protection mobile toilets in the area.
