Hongkou Creative Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

There is a creative container house project in Hongkou District, with the Little Tiny office service space in Hongkou being a typical example.

Project Overview

Little Tiny is an office service space designed for early-stage entrepreneurs or teams. The site is long and narrow, and originally, the central walkway might have been as dim as in a traditional office. However, through clever design, the architects utilized two courtyards and an interior void to allow natural light to reach all office spaces, enriching the spatial hierarchy.

Container Customization and Assembly

  • Custom Sizes: The office containers used in this project are not standard sizes but are customized to 12M in length, 3M in width, and 3.5M in height, meeting normal office standards and accommodating daily office functional layouts.
  • Assembly Method: The 148-square-meter office is assembled from five containers. The first floor includes a reception area, tea-tasting area, restrooms, a water bar, and an office area, providing comprehensive functions. The second floor combines a private office for leaders and a rest area, ensuring both functionality and privacy in the office layout.

Project Features and Advantages

  • Rational Space Utilization: Through the design of courtyards and interior voids, the project overcomes the spatial limitations of the long and narrow site and the containers themselves, creating bright and hierarchical office spaces that provide a comfortable and pleasant working environment for entrepreneurs.
  • High Functional Integration: Despite its relatively small size, the project offers a full range of functions, meeting the diverse needs of startup teams in terms of office work, reception, and leisure, embodying the characteristic of container architecture that “a small space contains all essential functions.”
