Homestay Container House Production

Admin September 15, 2026

The production of homestay container houses requires comprehensive consideration of multiple aspects, including structural design, material selection, production process, compliance certification, and scenario adaptation.

Structural Design

  • Structural Type Selection: Common structures include welded integral containers and bolt-connected modular containers. Welded integral containers are factory-welded as a whole, with direct load paths and strong resistance to deformation, suitable for frequent lifting and movement. Bolt-connected modular containers use standard panels connected by bolts, with multiple connection nodes in the load paths. When purchasing, it is necessary to check the wall thickness of the steel columns and bottom beams, with common specifications ranging from 1.5 mm to 3 mm. Thicker walls provide greater load-bearing redundancy but also increase the self-weight.
  • Load-Bearing Optimization: The traditional container's bottom frame has large spacing between longitudinal beams, which can lead to insufficient floor stiffness when used directly as living space. This can be addressed by adding C-shaped steel purlins between the bottom beams to evenly distribute the load to the main beams and enhance structural stability.

Material Selection

  • Steel: Reliable and strong steel should be selected to ensure the overall structural stability of the house.
  • Coating: The coating process on the container surface affects its corrosion resistance. Hot-dip galvanizing provides a longer corrosion-resistant lifespan than cold-dip galvanizing, especially in areas with large temperature differences between day and night and significant humidity changes, where the coating quality directly determines the rusting speed of the container.
  • Insulation Materials: Metal containers have high thermal conductivity, making it difficult to rely solely on panel insulation to cope with cold or hot environments. A three-layer structure can be adopted, with an outer layer of galvanized sheet to resist wind and sand erosion, a middle layer filled with rock wool as the main insulation layer, and an inner layer of PVC-coated steel sheet to reduce thermal radiation. Some companies also add an elevated layer at the bottom of the container to block ground cold bridge conduction.

Production Process

  • Weld-Free Quick Assembly Process: This reduces the degree of damage during disassembly and assembly and improves the structural stability after multiple relocations and reuse.
  • Degree of Factory Prefabrication: A high degree of prefabrication reduces on-site wet work, compresses construction errors from the centimeter level to the millimeter level, improves spatial squareness, and reduces the need for later modifications.

Compliance Certification

  • Verify the production entity's qualifications and domestic and foreign certifications to ensure that the product complies with relevant standards and norms and has cross-border export qualifications, among others.

Scenario Adaptation

  • Based on the scenario and needs of the homestay, design the product with customization flexibility and multi-scenario adaptability, such as appearance styling and internal functions, to meet the personalized needs of different customers.
