Ceiling for Homestay Container Houses
Admin September 16, 2026
The ceiling of homestay container houses should be comprehensively considered from three aspects: material selection, type adaptation, and construction specifications to ensure functional and safety standards are met.

1. Material Selection Should Be Based on Functional Requirements
- Guest Room Areas: Prioritize the use of double-layer gypsum board (with soundproof cotton in between) or mineral wool board, which can achieve a sound insulation level of over 45 decibels to meet soundproofing needs.
- Bathrooms: Due to high humidity, waterproof calcium silicate board or aluminum ceiling panels should be used to prevent material deformation or mold growth caused by moisture.
- Corridor Areas: Considering maintenance convenience, the removable structure of aluminum ceiling panels is more suitable for easy future maintenance.
- Public Areas: If visual effects are pursued, wooden veneer panels should be pre-treated for moisture resistance to avoid cracking or deformation due to changes in environmental humidity.
2. Ceiling Types Should Match Space Characteristics
- Flat Ceiling: Simple and elegant in design, suitable for places with high decoration requirements, such as homestay lobbies or dining rooms.
- Grille Ceiling: Excellent in air permeability and fire resistance, suitable for factories, warehouses, and other scenarios requiring ventilation or fire protection.
- Striped Ceiling: Good in sound insulation and absorption, suitable for offices, shopping malls, and other areas requiring noise reduction.
- Perforated Ceiling: Air permeability helps improve indoor air quality, suitable for workshops, factories, and other places with high ventilation needs.
- Mineral Wool Board Ceiling: Significant noise reduction effect, suitable for recording studios, theaters, and other places with strict acoustic requirements.
- Gypsum Board Ceiling: Flexible in shape, various patterns can be designed according to needs, suitable for interior decoration of residences, offices, etc.
3. Construction Points Should Strictly Follow Specifications
- Keel Selection:
- Light Steel Keel: Cold-formed from galvanized steel sheet, with high strength and corrosion resistance, suitable for most scenarios.
- Wooden Keel: Should use dried pine or fir wood, and the surface should be coated with fire-retardant paint to ensure fire resistance.
- Key Control Points:
- Control the ceiling flatness error, joint treatment, cutting method, and installation level error to ensure construction quality.
- Fire Protection and Moisture Resistance:
- According to the Code for Fire Protection Design of Interior Decoration of Buildings (GB 50222), the combustion performance grade of ceiling materials should reach Grade A or B1.
- Moisture-proof treatment should be done well, especially for wooden materials or areas in humid environments.
- Special Cases:
- The Le Shu container products come with pre-installed ceilings, using 7.5cm thick rock wool sandwich panels, which have both thermal insulation and heat insulation functions and can be used directly.
